Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Would you put it into a garage without light? I didn't think they have IR at all?
As Wildcat said, you can use the onboard lighting. I think one of his videos show this.
Should be the same power usage as using infrared.
I do not use the onboard lighting or infrared on all my cams.
I use led floodlights on dusk to dawn fixtures, as close to the cam as possible and
lighting in the same direction. A led par30 11w 5000k bulb for each cam.

The 5442 was good, but this 4kt is unreal. The resolution on this is insane.

having trouble getting this to 'authenticate' in synology surveillance. i can add it as an onvif camera, but then none of the AI smart detect features will work. can someone help getting it added correctly? @EMPIRETECANDY

i was able to add my 5442tZEs with no issue so but it does look like the web interface is different.
I'm running synology as well, though I can only add the 5442t-ze's in as onvif. I cannot for the life of me find the 5442 cameras in synologys' list

btw the webplugin that the default web portal tries to get you to download has a virus.... View attachment 140519

2 easy ways to resolve this:

1. Check in your antivirus to see if it's deteced as "generic". That's a good indicator it could be false positive.

2. Send you av provider's virus support a link to the file and let them download it and analyse it. That will be psoitive for 2 reasons: i. It will confirm virus or not, ii. if not, (which is likely), it ill enable them to adjust their signatures or white list it so it doesn't false positive in the future.

Hi, sorry for the noob question: is it possible to swap a 5442 with this cam by reusing the same attachment plate? Are the physical dimensions the same? I don't have any junction box atm.

Love the packaging stands above the rest. Huge good looking industrial type rj45 out cable should looks professional. not sure about the sim to the side for access purposes would like to have kept it covered. I have only got as far as setting my 3.6 in the garage but i t looks like i left the light on with the leds from the cam when set up right it is crisp and sharp and i can see the potential for this camera and its uses with the features installed. Can't wait to get it up outside just have to put my post up case some bugger steals it. I did have the same virus warning issue but sorted that out with a quick fix. Only thing missing for me is the a wiper blade I would like put on and slightly off the lens to keep the spiders of the lens. The spiders give my bullets hell and i have to brush them off every couple of nights in summer the spiders drive me crazy by stuffing up the picture quality and more cameras mean heaps of work sometimes every night they need cleaned off. They are not as bad with the turrets but if i speak to soon that will coe back and bite me in the ass.So thanks to Andy and Wildcat_1

Thanks, although I would like to replace the 4mp 5442 turret with this model, I would need to upgrade the junction box
Junction box is the same, so can replace it easily.Price is bit higher than the T5442T-ZE  Save some money for the new toy.Lol

You have to authenticate as generic dahua and then it will load all the functions.

This is the problem im having with the new 4k, i have to use onvif and im not getting the sma rt detect features in Synology

maybe ask Synology guy what they need to make the newer camera better work with their system, i can do some support if need any docs or files.

Alright i will ask them, is the august 26 2022 the latest firmware? ---------------Yes, that is right. Later will have a newer one in Oct.
We have computer win10, win 11 never require any web plugin, and this model not require any plugin anymore on Edge, Chorme that we tested.

I'm using the 5442 fixed lens turret with the small sized jx box, I would need to install the PFA130E to fit this new model :p

Sweet action, I finally have my hands on the new turret, but I opted for the 3.6mm version for where I plan to install it.

Like others have said, this new packaging has really upped the branding for @EMPIRETECANDY !

Congrats Andy! This has been a long time coming and I think more people will start to recognize EmpireTech cameras as a legitimate OEM player in the camera industry (although most here already know you are a legit player in this arena with tremendous relationships with manufacturers that they allow you to bring cameras like this to the market before they do!) Look at Lorex and Amcrest, the Andy train is a coming! And I think most would say your customer services when there is an issue is better than those other brands as well!

On the left is the last camera I got from Andy, compared to this most recent one. I think everyone will agree this is a big improvement!

Camera body we haven't print any logo, logo on camera is not watching good and we plan make this model a good Christmas gift with the color box. Will wait you give some testing and feedback for this cam @wittaj, thank you!
