Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

Any idea why there is no 6mm? Is it space constraint?

I like 2.8mm
Because the purchase price of 2.8mm parts is higher than 3.6mm
Furthermore, 5442 F1.0 doesn't have a 2.8mm specification (HFW5449T-ASE-NI)

From what I'm reading, don't expect supply chain issues of anything to improve until 2023. And look for it to get worse before it gets better.

To ship a container on a ship that used to cost $7000.00 is now costing $24,000. Among many many other challenges.
They are still playing catchup from the debacle at the Suez Canal.

China closed two large ports over covid concerns. The list of issue's keeps on coming.

Critical parts for a lot of small businesses that used to take 10-14 days to obtain, now takes 6 months.

Now that is one long supply chain.

The one fatal flaw of "just in time" delivery/inventory is there is no cushion when things go wrong and things always go wrong.

Yup. It is not just cam chips either.

Had to buy a new tire for my RV. Michelin 315/80R225. Totally out of stock at all Michelin warehouses and a new production run is yet to be scheduled.

Front AC unit on my RV needs to be replaced. Coleman 47024B879 is out of stock and the expected delivery is 8 months away.

If we've learned anything from Covid, it's that just in time doesn't work.
What does work instead: "Buy it cheap and stack it deep."
The most amazing factor here is that in the last, what, 3000 years, it's never been less expensive to borrow/own capital (i.e. interest rates are lowest in history).

We bought a new sofa on January 1, 2021 from Lazy Boy. Nothing special, just a run of the mill dual recliner. It's scheduled for delivery this Thursday, nine months later. Heck, I don't even remember what the hell it looks like!

We continually still see this in the grocery stores here.....empty shelf spaces.

Maybe time to stop relying on other countries and go back to making everything here...ya think...

this year we try our best to keep big volume stocks from dahua to keep the price more stable, but in 2022 all cost have to be increased 10-15%.
This 4K is lack of chips too, can't supply in big volume.

Hopefully a varifocal will come out before price increase...
