These S2, S3 versions on all these cameras coming out are probably @Wildcat_1 improved FW updates, lol.
Haha, thought I missed that didn't you I'm pleased to say that there are some FW improvements making their way into the new S2 / S3 variants, which while based on iterative chipsets do rely on a lot of the same back end algorithms that we've discussed here, fed back and looked to improveThese S2, S3 versions on all these cameras coming out are probably @Wildcat_1 improved FW updates, lol.
I haven't seen anything like that happen to a normally functioning camera. So I assume the sensor is indeed a little bad. Edit: But others say it is normal for this cam...Today i receive Dahua IPC-HFW3841E-AS-0280B
But i have white pixels on my black t-shirt (video watch it on HD or bigger resolution). Video is filmed indoor. Is this broken camera? When film in dark no bad pixels.
Nope, that is just some overzealous pixels trying to provide an image on something all black. It is documented in this thread and the 4K/T thread this phenomenon with the full color cameras trying to push the limits.Today i receive Dahua IPC-HFW3841E-AS-0280B

What camera do you have? The 4K/X does not have, nor can it see infrared.I maked new video with better light but white dots still there. They are few but still there. On dark with IR the camera is well.
You tell me all Dahua models have white dots? Camera is not broken? Ok how to avoid cameras with white dots effect. I don't want to film colorful in dark. I want to film dark with IR. I bought this camera for the spec: 8mp 4k resolution, 25-30 fps and to film with IR.
Now I'm wondering if I should keep it or return it. The camera is 194 euros and these points annoy me. And for that much money, I want a camera that can shoot without white dots.
That is a totally different camera than this thread. That is a budget camera that is 8MP on the 1/2.8" sensor designed for 2MP, whereas the camera in this thread is 8MP on a much larger 1/1.2" sensor. Please no more posts in this thread about a different camera than this thread is about.
That's worked well for me. I have the Hue lights all over so I went with Hue floods. Lets me set them at whatever level I want and I can trigger them from motion sensors. The 4K-X handles the lights coming on brighter very well. No flash, just an increase in the light level. I keep them very dim most of the time with some other accent lights since I don't want full floods on all the time. That's still enough to have a pretty good image. When triggered they come up to ~50%-75% which lets me pick up whatever motion better and then they dim back down after some time. I have one pointed more near-field and the other lighting up the background more. Don't use the on-board lights. At least with the version/firmware that I have that causes some internal adjustment in the cam so that the image is more 'tunnel vision' for lack of any better term with a brighter area in the center and darker around. Much better when just left off.I was actually considering picking up some smart floodlights that I could dim a bit if needed. Currently the bulbs I am using are dumb 100W bulbs.
Thanks to @EMPIRETECANDY and through this forum postIs there a way to configure this camera to follow the varying changes of dusk and dawn? I see I can set the day and night profile to a specific time every morning and evening, but really want it to change based on the actual dusk and dawn times that change pretty much every day.

, I was able to get this worked out through Blue Iris. The forum post help with the bullet version of this camera but did not for the turret version. Andy provided the following for the turret version to switch between day and night profiles:As always, I really appreciate everyone here and the great work you do.Here is the API to go to Night profile :

This code will overwrite the schedules in the GUI - when you run the night API, it will change all the times and months to NIGHT and when you run the day profile, it will change all the schedules in the GUI to DAY.
The API was posted in the turret review thread as the 4K-X and 4K-T are different GUIs and thus different APIs. I thought we had the APIs for the newer cams in the sunrise/sunset thread, so will have to take a look and add if not. Thanks to @EMPIRETECANDY and through this forum posthttps://ipcamtalk.com/threads/dahua-day-night-switch-utility-dahuasunrisesunset.18205/
