<<<UPDATE: Although I was initially disappointed with the Longse LBW90S500 I am now of the opinion that the Longse LBW90S500 is the best camera I own. However, this fact will not prevent me from purchasing additional IP cameras; The Quest continues! >>>

Seduced by it's IMX178 processor (and the proven performance of my Longse RoboCat LRDC60S500) along with it's (claimed) 90 meter IR, I just ordered a LBW90S500 from "Shenzhen Topxel Electronics Tech Co Ltd" on AliExpress. The total was $134.37 (with shipping, optional mounting bracket and optional POE). This seems like a bargain if the camera performs as well as the RoboCat LRDC60S500 with IR which is spec'ed to me a tad stronger than the RoboCat.

Specs are here...

A word on this manufacturer: Longse and (the associated Cantonk) are said by some to have stolen software property of other manufacturers; some have suggested that a boycott is in order. While this may be a righteous call, it is apparent from this purchase that I am being selfish and self-centered and for this I apologize...but I'll certainly let you know if the camera suQs (or not).

Bracket optional, PoE optional ... that's a good price.

On the subject of IP (Intellectual Property) theft, it's also interesting how much of the look and feel of the Huisun firmware is familiar when you've been used to Hikvision's web GUI.
I've not looked in any detail - but my superficial impression is that Huisun's firmware is a lot different from Hikvsion's, even the modes they run the ARM processor in are different.

I hope it's not a did you get what you pay for price. The seller of mistakenly lists the camera as 8 mm. It is not an 8 mm camera. It is a 3.6 mm camera which is stated correctly further down in the listing.

Use the message system to make sure they send a 3.6mm and exactly what you want. You can never be too sure.

Looks decent for sure.

Good idea. I am really excited about the 90m IR. I know they always lie about IR range, but this unit is rated at 50% greater IR distance then my RoboCat LRDC60S500. The RoboCat IR is good...so I'm hoping the new camera has even stronger IR.

Don't get too excited. Mine isn't much/noticeably better than IMX322 when zoomed all the way in. But that is pitch black so you never know!

Make sure that rear bolt is tightened when you get it.

LBW90S500 is 6MP HD 3.6mm Board Lens

Do you have a LBW90?

LBW90 comes in many different configurations. I have ordered the S500 which did notice the IMX178 sensor.

I recently ordered 2 pcs of the LBL90S500, so very similar, just slightly different housing. Haven't received them yet (not even dispatched yet), so cannot judge them. Hoping for a good IR performance as well.

The LBW90S00 Cyclops is on the docks being loaded n the slow boat to Q. The seller took every last minute to ship it, but I have a tracking number that looks good.

I have cancelled mine, as it took my seller far too long to respond to questions, and too long to ship.
Ordered some Dahua IPC-HFW4431M-I2 camera's instead. But I'm still curious about the experiences of Q2U :)

The LBW90S500 has arrived and it has been installed and I'm not impressed. The Longse product pages states that the camera is "Housing Metal"; It is plastic as far as I can tell. The Longse product page states that the "Infrared Distance 90m"; at first glance the LBW90S500 IR appears to be less powerful than the LRDC60S500 which is "rated" by Longse at "20m."

Link to LBW90S500 Longse product page...

Next the camera is very large, as shown in the pictures I've posted below. Maybe it is to large...if the IR sucks then why does the camera need to be so large?

The camera appears to have shipped with the latest firmware, as shown below...

Firmware Version: 3516A_IMX178_W_6.1.25.3
Software Version: 6.1.23.5
Web Version: 6.1.23.160608

I'll post some video and/or screenshots as soon as I get the camera set up in Blue Iris.

Overall, I'm definitely disappointed; the quest shall continue.

Damn that is huge. The base alone is about as large as the turret

The design looks like Huisun v2, the top cover is plastic but the rest of the cam is metal. So next cam is with imx290 ;)

We already knew what the IMX178, 3516A and the Herospeed firmware could do...and good it is...but I was keen on the "90 meter IR" which appears to be bunk...unless I got a defective unit. Turning up the Gain has helped...but 90 meter IR? I'm calling bullshit.
