I use an Android TV box (Minix Neo U1) and the Blue Iris App since I use BI server for my cameras.
But I have used IP Cam Viewer or Tiny Cam Pro app too. You can load any Android based app on this box.

Looks like an alien invasion landing from under the garage door...messed w the fisheye settings and wacked out the daylight color on the substreams.

I have a mix of 5 Dahua, 1 foscam, 1 American Dynamics cams at the moment.

Does anyone know if these configurable AndroidTV appliances are suitable for client access to WebEX, driving an HDMI output, and a speakerphone, and maybe a logitech camera input vs setting up windows on an Intel NUC or SFF box but with better graphics driver ability (as well as viewing cameras etc)?

add: it seems like it should work. not sure about sharing documents etc as a host, but maybe client and camera/display would work well???

I have the MXQ android box, and it's only the dual core.

TinyCam Pro works flawlessly with the two streams I have set up. I can even use the PTZ functions for the SD59225U-HNI. The audio streams are there as well.

AndroidTV and Android on a TV are not the same thing.. Features like PiP/LiveChannels/Netflix HD/4k require an AndroidTV box..

basically:
  • Google Nexus Player
  • Xotami Mi Box
  • Nvidia ShieldTV

I think that's what this thing is. This is kind of new to me, but I'm getting better at it.

My neighbor gave me one of these for cutting his lawn last summer, except he didn't splurge for the quad core.

I thought it was like your Shield with a lot less muscle?

I downloaded TCP from googleplay and set up the cams. The PTZ functions work.

I have a Samsung smart TV. It's a quad core, but two years old. Maybe that can run TinyCam?

I ordered an Nvidia ShieldTV. Looking forward to playing with it. I also bought a tiny $120 Intel PC with Win10 on it to see how that performs, because it was so cheep.

Coincidence.
I've just hooked up a serial interface to one of those to figure out why it's not updating, my son-in-law thought I'd be able to suss it out for some reason.
I'm just getting the spinning globe thing and can't seem to get it to turn on.
But it sees the remote.
I need to figure out how to work it.

Apologies for the bump.

I have a Super Mini NVR - can I use this to view cameras that are connected via POE to a Dahua NVR? Thanks.

using the BI UI3 on an LG 49" tv...seems to work great!...got it cycling through all cams and then once motion detected on one, it focuses on the cam with motion.

I have an older 46" LG smart tv and after a LG software update I couldn't connect to or view on BI any more. Are you viewing through the tv browser and what url are you using?

I am working on a solution for this as well, i want a device hooked up to my AV receiver showing 1 or 4 cams 24/7. When i'm watching a movie and my doorbell rings i want domoticz to quickly switch the hdmi input, so i can see who is in front of the door. I've got the last part working already, i just need something to display the cams. I ordered a cheap "Android TV" from aliexpress, i installed gdmss on it and it worked but after 2 days it lost connection and i had to restart the streams. This just doesn't work for me..

Then i ordered acheap ass nvr , i didn't care about functions. Just displaying 1 or more camera's using the HDMI port. I figured i just add the camera's using onvif, but after an hour of messing around i had enough. Couldn't get the camera's added because the nvr would reboot when opening the osd camera registration screen.

I was now thinking about getting a second Dahua NVR (cheapest one? NVR4104/8-4KS2) from Andy, but reading about Tiny Cam i think i'm giving that a shot on my Android box.

Someone posted in the forum that he is releasing a device that supposedly to overlay your security cameras on your TV so you can watch regular TV programming and get alert from it to switch it over to camera or something like this.

The thread can be found at New product for advanced features.

I been wait1ing for someone to at least post an review or YouTube of it functioning before considering to get one for myself.

If you use Kodi there is an addon called surveillance room that can do this. It was made for foscam cams, but I've gotten a hikvision and a dahua working with it.
I recently asked the dev about blue iris support.
I'm a cord cutter and watch tv through kodi using my hdhomerun. This addon can pop up over the tv or movie or whatever you are watching to alert you if you so desire.
Check it out on the kodi forums and if you also use blue iris you can give the dev a me too requesting support.
I find if I use the direct streams then this starts to slow down my cams and this is why I would like to see blue iris support.

Since Roku is getting to be very popular, any thought to getting TinyCam PRO on a Roku?
The Roku api is very limited when it comes to live video, so it's unlikely well see much of anything support security cameras well on roku any time soon. Maybe we'll see some options once more cameras support HLS and DASH.

Nothing like developing for android. Just get a fire stick and use tinycam.
