Okay I'm new to this so also learning as I go. You've specified Manual with a Customised exposure range of 0-100 milli seconds - so 0 to 1/10th second. That 1/10th will be part of your motion blurring issue at night. If you want to run Manual (I do to prevent motion blur), try something like 1/25th second (40ms) or faster.
So if the camera is running at a frame rate of 30fps, doesn't that mean the longest possible exposure is 1/30 or 33.3ms?

Yes, I'm guessing it will automatically reduce the FPS to allow for longer exposure times? Even when left in Auto I doubt it does 30FPS in low light as you need the longer exposure times. Nayr or someone else with more experience with this camera will probably know for sure.

I run mine at 20FPS.

Edit: there's a generic article mentioning the FPS vs exposure time here Training: Frame Rates for IP Cameras

Some manufacturers fake frames with slow shutter, simply copying the same frame over and over again. For example, if you have 1/15s shutter, you can only have 15 exposures and, therefore, 15 frames. To make it seem like you have 30 frames, each frame can be sent twice in a row

20fps ftw, I found basically no difference in cpu usage between 10 and 20, so why not.

I'll play with mine tonight and see what it does. BI has a screen that reports frame rates and other stats, so should be able to use it as a measuring tool. I had some Logitech Alert cams that would throttle down from 15fps to 4 in the dark of night to get longer exposure. Static shots looked great with no noise but the motion blur made them pretty useless for ID.

Well I did some experimenting and the frame rate remained constant. Even when backing out all the gain and lenghtening exposure time.

So it looks like it ignores exposure times (set in the customized range box) that are not possible due to frame rate.

It could be something like what I posted earlier happens- where they double up frames to get the same fixed rate.

Just tried using latest Blue Iris and I still get big green bars if I enable H265. Viewing the RTSP stream in VLC works fine though.

I don't think so since the picture became darker. I am in a rural setting where there is virtually no light, so it is of some interest to me. I do think "Auto" is probably fine for most situations. I still want that faster shutter for less smear, but need to try the new firmware as @nayr reports improved performance.

Anyone seen any update on their DHL tracking from the orders that shipped two days ago?

I have orders, and both of their tracking numbers show:
  • 37319XXXXX (Not found): No result found for your DHL query. Please try again.
I know they were shipped on a Saturday (so I didn't expect anything right away), but it's the end of Monday local time in China, so I was sort of expecting to see something by now?

If you received a notification from AliExpress saying they are shipped, with tracking numbers, doesn't mean they have physically been picked up yet. Just be patient, as my first order was like this too. It took 2 days becore anything showed in DHL's tracking system. When was the order placed? Last week some time? Just curious as I placed mine on 3/21, when stock showed. Andy obviously doesn't ship right away, even though AliExpress shows stock. It just allows someone to purchase them.

Been using my HDW5231R-Z's for a couple of weeks now and am having some issues I can't fix.

1. I am having very bad ghosting at night
2. During the day I get very bad choppiness of cars driving by and kids running up and down the sidewalk.

I've posted my settings for any input

Did some testing last night and found very interesting results.

1. I reset 1 cam to all defaults kept the same firmware and when I rebooted the only options I changed were the FPS to 30, the bit rate to CBR 8192 and the i frame to 60. After doing this the problems still existed and did not notice much if any improvement.

2. I upgraded the firmware on 1 camera to the most recent PAL firmware, mine came with NTSC. rebooted and kept all the same setting I had when the camera was having issues. Once I did that everything started working much much better. No choppiness no ghosting at night.

Once I had the one camera working I upgraded the rest of the cams, total of 4, to the most recent PAL firmware and 99% of my issues have been resolved.

Could there be an issue with the NTSC firmware that doesn't show up in the PAL firmware? I did some searching and noticed most everyone has the PAL firmware so maybe that's why nothing has been reported about the NTSC firmware.

I ordered on 3/15 and 3/21. With my past Ali orders, once I've received a tracking number, with 24 hours, DHL acknowledge the tracking number as valid, even if the product was still waiting to be picked up.

Both of my Ali orders now show different tracking numbers, and they both show the product in Hong Kong, so I'm good. :)
