Someone tell me why not to buy the Sumba 20x PTZ.

2 day delivery, $370 with 4 year SquareTrade protection plan

The Dahua SD49225T-HN look comparable, but I can't find a US seller with shipping this week and with 4 year protection.

My place is on the coast with brutal high salt air winds and relitive humidity that is above 90 most of the summer time. Dahua is rated for RH under 90%. I fully expect to replace any camera every few years, so the warranty will most like be used. I even have to replace my weather station every two years, go figure...
I may just wait for a Dauha deal on amazon, but the Sumba looks like a nice toy until one appears.

Don't know why you would consider a generic brand PTZ for $370 when the real deal is cheaper @ $342... I also highly doubt the warranty will cover you unless the camera is faulty and not due to normal wear and tear of your installation environment.

I own 2 Sunba 20X PTZ cameras, a Sunba HZ507-20XB and Sunba 604-D20X. Both have very poor night vision. I also have 1 of the Dahua DH-SD49225T-HN 25X PTZ cameras. The Dahua has much better night vision over the Sunba. I also just ordered another of the Dahua's and will be replacing one my Sunba's with the new Dahua when it arrives tomorrow.

The DH-SD49225T-HN looks like a pretty good deal. Are you buying these from @EMPIRETECANDY ?

Yes, bought 2 of the DH-SD49225T-HN from Empire. The second camera was purchased March 31 and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Dahua International does not sell directly in the US, yeh gotta import em..

Dahua USA will get comparable models, but many months later and for significantly more moolah.. B&H Photo is an authorized US Distributor for Dahua USA

Andy - $128 DHL SHipped - Aliexpress.com : Buy Dahua IPC HDW4231EM AS 2MP IR Eyeball Network Camera. free DHL shipping from Reliable network camera suppliers on BEC Technology Co.,Ltd

B&H Photo - $213 Shipped from US - Dahua Technology Pro Series 2MP Outdoor Network Eyeball N24BG53

With the cost savings of importing it ($85) you could just spend a lil more ($40) and have a backup sitting on hand which is better than any warranty.. If your needing multiple cameras then its easy to have a spare camera and still be much cheaper than buying US Domestic models directly.

My Black Face Dahua PTZ is still running fine 4 years later and I paid a bunch extra like an idiot from a US Distributor so I could have a 1 year warranty.. never used it, didnt need it and its going to be replaced soon not because it failed, just because it got too old and the new starlight tech is sooo much better.

To be fair, if you login to the BH website the price drops to 167...not too bad of a premium

hadent even seen that, if your willing to wait and perhaps nab a good sale then B&H Photo should have a comparable model (not same model # though) seems about 6months or so after they become available on international markets.. I think we got our first one of the new lite ptz's around January, so mebe June-July if the pattern holds.

There brand new, hot off the presses cameras; and the first good Dahua IR PTZ w/high zoom under $400.. and its a fucking starlight capable model! I paid ~$700 for the 4yr old back face hanging off the back of my house.
