You are missing my point Fenderman. What I am saying is you can have a gun, and still cower like a schmuck, and if you are one of those people, then a firearm is not for you. I don't know what you are reading about Australia, but out wives and daughters don't get beaten and raped at gunpoint down here, and we can and do defend ourselves, including with firearms from time to time, not that we really need to, crime is low here.

mmm steak.
crime is low...still happens and you cant protect yourself from it..when someones life is endanger their nice demeanor may change...if they cant or believe they cant, they will be dead, just as I stated...and you can note their nice demeanor on their gravestone.

Australia sounds nice. America is kinda fucked up right now. Do you allow immigrants if i wanted to move? :)
Why do you think it is nice? They have one of the strictest immigration policies and did you notice it is an island? You could not get in.

Well we just deported a few more mexicans from 7/11s a cross the country. So i guess trump is adding jobs. Look out china were gonna catch up to your low pay labor force just as soon as we get done throwimg ours over a shiny new wall!
The dow is through the roof..most folks will be getting serious tax cuts and yes they deported folks who broke the law. Illegal immigration as slowed since trump took office. The wall is fantastic, remember its not just illegal immigrants, but criminals and drugs that get smuggled over. Dont know about you but I am gonna love the extra few grand in my pocket next year. Cheap labor is the dumbest reason to allow illegal immigration. IT IS UNLAWFUL TO EMPLOY ILLEGALS. Bunch of children with their panties in a bunch because for once the president does what he said he will do.....get over it...youll have your chance to F things up again in 2024.

Fine you guys win. I got what i needed from this place. @fenderman, feel free to remove my account.
You can leave on your own and dont let the door hit you on the way out... we dont ban people because they have differing political views...typical lefty loon, cant comprehend that someone has different political and social views...so they must leave a forum not related to politics...as we all know the radical left is the LEAST accepting group of all. Where is the tolerance? Oh i forgot, that is reserved for illegals and criminals...

Australia is awesome. We do like educated employable migrants from English speaking countries. The place is full of American, South African, British and Canadian refugees.

Technically, if someone invades your home and you're not home, then you might not be prosecuted. However, in most other circumstances, you could be. Then there's compensation - ours just get compensated, even when it's a police dog detaining them!

Car thief paid £2,000 compensation after police dog bite during arrest

As for guns, our culture is so anti-gun, a large number of parents won't even allow their children to play with toy guns "as it encourages violence".

In China if keep gun, will be 10 years in Prison...last time some guys take some gun toy(looks real one) from HK to China, and the guy sentence to prison for whole life.

Hi Andy. Thanks for telling us about oppression in China. We should be well aware of this and not support your economy due to human rights violations, but apparently, we like cheap shit and look the other way. Mao killed 65 million. Take a look here and see what you think.

At least you're allowed.

This is what happens in the UK: Tony Martin (farmer) - Wikipedia
Same here in Canada, the perp has more rights that the home owner.

I say knock em out hard and drag their a$$ down the street and leave them there. Just hope that when they come to, they have no clue how they got there.
Tony got done for shooting them in the BACK when they were trying to escape, not when he was defending himself. He had an ILLEGAL weapon and had lost his licence prior ..... seems pretty simple to me.

Now before you whinge, Australia has similar tight laws to UK and has very little gun crime. I actually have a firearm licence and licensed rifles, which have to live locked up in safes and ammo locked in different safes, so not much use in a hurry. Any crook with a gun gets a pretty clear go, and the coppers figure it out later, but very little, and none of the mass shootings you get in the States.

As for the 'unwelcome visitor' in the video, a simply frying pan or kitchen knife across the head/hand would have fixed the problem.

This has been discussed to death in other threads...Australia had very low rates of gun deaths well before the ban...the ban did nothing but disarm law abiding citizens....homicides were UP for years after the buyback...Australia's homicide rate averaged about 300 before and after the buyback....we had 678 on Chicago alone last year...mass shootings make up an insignificant number of gun deaths....they are irrelevant.
John Lott's Website: Some notes on claims about Australia's crime rates
it is important to look at the actual numbers and facts rather than take a feel good politicians word for it...that gets you killed. You are a fool if you think that woman could have defended herself with a frying pan or knife.....you can let your wife get raped or killed, here we are pro choice, we let our women defend themselves.

TBH, there are plenty of examples of Britains who got jailed for defending themselves - here's a horrific knife example where a guy stabbed a drugged up crazed man who broke into his house covered in blood after smashing up several other houses on the street, attacked his girlfriend and then him and his friends and couldn't be stopped until the guy stabbed him 4 times, 3 time totally superficially, so once in effect really. He got 5 years for defending himself as it was ruled excessive force! : Five years in prison for acting in self-defence

I'm pretty sure in some US states, if someone is inside your house or sometimes your garden they can be shot on sight. I remember watching one on cops where a man tried to break into a house with the homeowner inside and the homeowner shot him dead through the patio door as he tried to force it. The police came, he wasn't even arrested. To my mind that is how it should be. If it's clearly self defence, then the homeowner shouldn't be arrested.

As for gun security, you're right. That's the one thing the US gets wrong. One of the biggest reasons the UK / Aus have so little gun crime is because the background checks / requirements are so tough AND all guns have to be locked in safes at all times they're not in use. That prevents impulse killings and also these school shootings as youngsters can't steal a parents gun and take it to school / college.

I keep all my frying pans and kitchen knives right next to the front door along with some pepper spray, an umbrella and a baseball bat. :wtf:
I hereby award you the honour of burglars best friend. I just hope you have some good toilet roll, the 3 ply stuff, not the 2 ply stuff to fight the (your) knife wielding burglar off with. As for the frying pan, I suggest the loo brush and a night in with some Errol Flynn movies to brush up on your fencing technique! :winktongue:

this is absolutely not true...legally purchased firearms are used in 3-5 percent of gun crimes...
