Unfortunately I just discovered the ONVIF (OXML) preset doesn't work for the far/near buttons in BI.....so now back I go to Dahua New again. :)

Confirmed. It's not working on mine either. But I'll keep using the ONVIF because the far/near bug is less severe than the Dahau New reliability bug for my usage.

I've found another great feature of this camera; licence plate reading. I can capture plate numbers on my street, coming and going, from my camera installed above my garage door.
Default settings, 15fps, daytime only, 30 - 40 mph speeds shown.

When you buy a camera from Andy (or anyone) at Aliexpress is there really any warranty, as it costs a fortune to send anything to China. If it breaks will Dahua USA warranty or are you just SOL?

This cam sells for 325.00 from Andy....or 585.00 from BH Photo here in states. You do take a chance, but I have yet to have a failure on ANY of my Dahua cams from Andy. Also Andy does warranty his cams, you just have to select of slower cheaper method to return cam.

Even if you buy from an authorized reseller in the US, good luck getting direct support or warranty services from Dahua. They (along with Hikvision) do not seem to want to deal directly with end users and almost always refer them back to the reseller. To your point, it’s not the cheapest to ship quickly back to China, but like tinman mentioned, there are slower/less expensive ways, and odds are very good that you won’t have any warranty issues. :)

Thanks for your reply. I really like this camera's specs and I guess I''l just roll the dice and take my chances. Can't be any worse than Huisun :)

Trust me @TrailRider, the SD49225T-HN comes in a distant 2nd when compared to the SD6CE245U-HNI. Although the SD6CE245U-HNI is much larger -- and more expensive -- I would spend the extra money and go with the SD6CE245U-HNI.

That is a nice camera. I am a little surprised at this camera and other higher end Dahua cameras don't really have auto IR cut features. I've got the 42212TNI and SD49225T-HN and having the IR turn on by scheduled times (profiles) is lacking. Anyone know why they don't build in auto IR cut into these things?

According to the spec 42212 has IR cut filter. You meant you want to turn on by schedule? That sounds like software issue that Dahua can address with firmware update.

Yes, it can be turned on by schedule but no other settings will accompany a night/day profile unless you select the profile. So, while it turns on, the settings for other parameters would have to be generic enough to accomodate night video and day video. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Very nice picture, very clear. What I like to do with my night vs day profiles is for daytime I like to increase my shutter speed and other settings related to cars moving by faster. This helps me to get a clearer picture of the vehicle and person in the car. In the evening, I slow the shutter speed and change other settings that help me get a clearer night picture of a moving object. So the two profiles do more than just turn on/off IR, based on light conditions (night vs day). I just wish that these cameras did it automatically based on the ambient light and maybe even a combination of ambient light and time.

Andy has stated that his return defect rate is very very low.
