Chinese crap. They only care about the money and the data. This is why I do not use the cloudy for anything. This is just the beginning. The iot stuff is like leaving you front door unlocked and the garage door open.

We have a “smart” home but nothing is in the cloud. VPN to view Blue Iris, no ports open, no surfing on the home automation computer, no Upnp, all cameras have every communication protocol turned off except for tcp/ip, cameras blocked to the Internet and a good (UniFi) firewall.

I’m not a professional network person but I do read, read and read. Once I understand what I’ve read, I implement it and check to make sure the results are what was intended.

Still might get hacked, but being proactive at trying to continually block potential attacks.
