It just goes to show you that there is no such thing as a "reliable smart home cloud platform"
We have a “smart” home but nothing is in the cloud. VPN to view
Blue Iris, no ports open, no surfing on the home automation computer, no Upnp, all cameras have every communication protocol turned off except for tcp/ip, cameras blocked to the Internet and a good (UniFi) firewall.
I’m not a professional network person but I do read, read and read. Once I understand what I’ve read, I implement it and check to make sure the results are what was intended.
Still might get hacked, but being proactive at trying to continually block potential attacks.
