Nice, too bad it only includes the handful of US models and not the whole International line..

Any chance with all the newer 4MP cameras being released there could be a sticky for them referencing them, much like this one? Would be extremely helpful. I've found this thread to be immensely useful as a resource & go to point for 2mp cameras.

Also keen to see 5231 knocked out of top position .
Sure, feel free to make one for us. ;)

Hi all , new member from eastern BC Canada . I’m convinced Dahua is the way to go for cameras . I was going to purchase Ubiquity until I seen their night time picture quality . The tester looked like a ghost from the IR ,so I’m going with Dahua now .
The only issue has been buying them in the East Kootenays. We have a dealer here but I get this feeling they prefer large accounts , not some guy walking threw their door buying a couple of cameras and an NVR .
They actually wanted me to go with a DVR /NVR and cameras that required coax . Not a big fan of non iP cameras at the moment though .
Trying to find an affordable camera with the best image at night for under $600 Canadian . Ideally I’d like to have a PTZ with 30 times optical in the front of my house to play with , but at a couple thousand dollars it’s a tough call.

I was going to order the model that has night colour in a 2 megapixel, but I’m reading here that they have newer 4K versions that are close to it in night performance because of the large sensor .
This is for my home , as I’d like to know what’s going bump in the night . I want to start with two cameras and a 2Tb NVR that can record 25 frames per second . I’m assuming it’s best to stay with the same company when using cameras and nvrs together ?
I’ll do some more research here and learn as best I can, but any advice would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks for the link you posted though, will check it out .
I wish I could find a review on the N45DB7Z, but maybe it’s too new

The same piece of Dahua hardware can have different model numbers. On the forum here you’re more likely to find a review if you look for the model number used on Dahua’s international site. Very rarely will you find a review here that uses the model numbers found on Dahua’s North American site. Most folks here order their Dahua stuff from an awesome vendor named Andy, who goes by @EMPIRETECANDY on the forum here. He sells the OEM version of Dahua hardware, which doesn’t have the Dahua logo printed on it. He usually sells for a good bit less than buying the same hardware with the Dahua logo, plus he sells most of the models from Dahua’s international lineup, many of which Dahua doesn’t sell in North America (for whatever reason). As Andy has gotten more popular, he’s having to use his own model numbers. Anyhow, check the specs of the review I linked to in my last post, it looks like the same hardware as what you’re looking for (4MP 1/1.8” sensor vari-focal bullet).

You can find some of Andy's cameras on Amazon, under his name Empiretech(punch it in, in Amazon search).

I was looking to get some more HDW-5231 or 4231 from Andy but I don't see them on Amazon. Does that usually mean he is out of stock, or does he use different model numbers on Amazon? On my previous orders I went direct to Andy, but it seems like Amazon may be easier.
