Shucks, there goes my theory that the other variants might have slightly different board revisions to allow Alexa/Google and disable outdoor bell sound in latest Ezviz firmware 191211. Ezviz cloud might be blocking certain features by device serial number.

Curious to see what the various re-branded doorbells display for your "Panel Version" and "Hardware Version" under device information. My RCA HSDB2 is at "V0" for panel and "0x0" for hardware versions. Even though I've upgraded it to 191211 firmware, I notice the disable outdoor bell sound isn't available in my mobile app.

Are you checking under the setting in the Ezviz mobile app?

The setting is not available in other brand mobile apps when I checked and I am using the Ezviz doorbell with the latest firmware.

The Ezviz app on iPhone was updated 18 hours ago. I am downloading it now to check it out.

Has anyone else has issues with the doorbell disconnecting from wifi every few minutes?

I have the Nelly's version (NSC-DB2) and mine disconnects every approx 3 mins. It's takes about 20-30 secs to reconnect so I miss anything during this time.

Signal is good -52dBa and doesn't appear to be fluctuating
Batch config only shows an Exception error - Network Disconnection in the logs

Troubleshooting Steps
I replaced my 16V 20VA transformer with a 24V 40VA one
I have an Ubiquiti access point and have moved the doorbell from 2.4G to 5G
Moved the AP closer
Used an older Linksys router to see if there was an incompatibility with the Ubiquiti AP
I reset the doorbell multiple times including removing power for over an hour
I've tried every firmware listed in the 101

I previously had the Laview version of the doorbell listed in following thread. This doorbell never had any connectivity issues but I wanted a better picture without the IR washout. Additionally I was looking to use the PIR motion sensing in Blue Iris with ONVIF.

Yes, I checked under Ezviz, Laview, RCA, Hik-Connect, etc for my RCA HSDB2 doorbell

Sorry, I might have missed part of the post. What are you trying to do? I think you are trying to disable the outdoor bell (I dont like it either BTW), using the EZVIZ App, but running RCA firmware?
I have the RCA version as well, running laview at the moment for the OVNIF, but really really want to turn off the outdoor bell as well. I bought my bell a while ago, so I'm not too worried about bricking.
mostly I wanted to clarify that you're not saying that even with the ezviz firmware, you're unable to disable the out door ring, with your RCA hardware

I had been running Laview since October 2019 for the ONVIF feature since Ezviz still doesn't allow ONVIF & Alexa integration on the RCA unit.

Over the weekend, my RCA doorbell suddenly went offline for no reason. I had to upgrade from Laview ONVIF firmware to Ezviz's latest firmware version 191211 that does not support ONVIF just to get my doorbell to register on their cloud. I was hoping to at least get the disable "outdoor bell sound" feature in the Ezviz app for my RCA HSDB2 BUT it's not even showing up in the Ezviz app(android version). I'm thinking either the firmware is checking for hardware prefix for Ezviz serial numbers or the Ezviz cloud backend blocking it. Hope that clears it up for you.

That sure does, and yeah that sucks. I had considered upgrading to the ezviz myself specifically for the chime off support. Thanks for the info. I hope that other firmware offers this some day, but I'm not holding my breath

The only bright spot so far to 191211 is that I can still remove the Ezviz logo like in previous Laview ONVIF firmware.

Are you able to revert back to the laview firmware now that your doorbell is working again?

I didn't try rolling back to Laview as I didn't want to push my luck as it already took 30 minutes troubleshooting before I decided to just upgrade to Ezviz 191211 firmware to get it to register successfully. My NVR had to be reconfigured back to record RTSP instead of ONVIF for the doorbell camera. I'll keep it in this mode for a while just to rule out hardware flakiness.

I think I found my issue. My firewall was blocking icmp and the doorbell pings its default gateway (I assume to see if the network is working). If it doesn't receive a reply within about 3 minutes it disconnects the wifi and reconnects. i enabled icmp echo on the firewall and the doorbell appears to be stable

The outer dimensions were dictated by the imprint of my old doorbell (diameter=60 mm). As i wanted a more or less uniform edge around the db1 i choose 145 mmx60 mm as outer dimensions. But you can go really nuts and choose every shape you like.
The 2 mounting holes are 89 mm apart (think this is 3.5 inch). The diameter of these i choose 8 mm so there is some wiggle room during mounting.
And in the center there is a 30 mm hole for the connection cable. This could be a bit bigger as the db1 is around 45 mm wide.

Thank you very much for this. It's a good starting point for what I'd like to do. I have to find an online machine shop also here in Italy. It's a great idea, don't know if some shop thought about it. :)

This is a great catch. I always advise who uses firewalls to first sniff for 2-3 days the device, to see all of the ports/protocols it uses and destination IPs, in order to build the proper fw ruleset. Or you could analyze all the traffic blocked while it was not working.

I think I read some post in the past, I think in this thread, of someone who published all the fw rules used to allow all the ports this device uses. It would be good to put those in the FAQ.

Interesting as I've always had ICMP blocked on my numerous routers (previously Netgear R7000, AC68U and currently on my AX88U) without any issues. That includes the past 3 years with RCA wifi doorbells like HSDB1(1.5yrs) and HSDB2(1yr+). I know it uses the standard ports 80, 554, and 8000 and I have upnp disabled.

Interesting as I've always had ICMP blocked on my numerous routers (previously Netgear R7000, AC68U and currently on my AX88U) without any issues. That includes the past 3 years with RCA wifi doorbells like HSDB1(1.5yrs) and HSDB2(1yr+). I know it uses the standard ports 80, 554, and 8000 and I have upnp disabled.
Same here, I have a Ubiquiti USG and ICMP is blocked by default. Have not made any changes and it works.

Yes, ONVIF use the same as http port unless it was configured to use a different port.

UPnP don't need to be either disabled or enabled for the doorbell to work if using cloud based app (scan barcode) service. But those required ports should not be blocked by the firewall if you are using your own app or recording to a hardware such as NVR.

The doorbell cloud I believe will create a network tunnel layer so it can directly communicate with the doorbell through the firewall. It's similar what VPN does but the tunneling on VPN is encrypted and cloud tunneling may or may not be encrypted because it only used to bypass a firewall policy which the doorbell is behind to communicate with.
