Assessment of Reliability is subject to scrutiny. Countries should have immediately prevented flights from China entering their countries. Bill Gates has warned everybody in more than one instance

Plenty of links (including one from the WHO), the list goes on, all indirect evidence. Of course preparation was somewhat underway but wasn't fast enough, because everyone had their own perception on the matter.

So from your own propaganda. As of Jan 23rd, WHO says it isn't a problem and on Jan 30th they are going to meet and talk about it

Meanwhile, Trump imposes a travel ban from China the very next day and is slammed by the media for doing it. Also, don't you find it interesting that the very same people the praise our dedicated, non-partisan, loyal public servants like Lt Col Vindman in the same breadth blame the FDA and CDC from dropping the ball???

Wow, quite surprising that you would think that folks are posting propaganda here, when this is supposed to be a community engaged in healthy discussion. Bill Gates has been warning everybody for years now that such a global emergency would take place. This goes back years, not months.

Its unfortunate that Trump's actions are misperceived and thus wrongly propagated by the eyes of the media

Trump is human, he can speak whatever comes to his mind. If people misperceive him, that's their fault, not his ;)
Ya, sure you are....

What are you hering from the Governor @c hris527?
I watched him today, seems kinda surreal right now, everybody locked down now in this state. He basically said he will keep tightening the grip on us subjects and he alone will be the fall guy if we don't like it. Right now as long as I can have my pizza and beer I'm somewhat OK however I never knew how much power emergency acts can have on the population. I live in a rural area so we have been 4 wheeling, nature walking, cleaning the house, garage, My last Computer Job was Wednesday and I guess I cannot do anymore work unless deemed essential and that might come up, I have some contracts with large municipalities but they are shut down also. We know this will end but once these use of powers are acted on, I hope it does it not become the normal.

I always thought that Cuomo would make a power grab if there were to be a real emergency. As far as I'm concerned -- although I dislike the man intensely -- the jury's still out on him with regards to the ConJoboVirus. I do all the computer infrastructure work for our company and I've set everyone up to RDP over our Cisco VPN into our office from home. They'll be logging into their individual workstations and using Avaya IP Office phones so their experience should be no different than if they were at the office. The only problem is we got six people doing the work fit for one person. I don't see how we'll be able to keep everyone on. These are people I've worked with for 30-years. :( I actually fuQing cried today. I'll be going into the office on Monday; my claim is that we're an "essential business" as we deliver medical and exercise equipment to doctors, hospitals, physical therapists, and gyms. "Really ossifer...we're essential!"

@Q™ Stay safe, your health takes precedence over your work :)

I left the house this morning and forgot to eat which has never happened. I'M STILL NOT HUNGRY. I weighed in at 242 this morning, down from 248 last Friday, so there's the silver lining: stress induced slimming.
Well, unless there's a tornado I don't think you're going to blow away anytime soon. I hope whatever the hell's going on with you that you can recover fully. Would be nice to find out what's causing the issue. Maybe they'll have more widespread testing next week. Down here in FL I heard that they'll start testing IF you are 65 years old or older and your are showing signs.

My wife last day was Monday, She works at a Casino, I wonder if they can recover from this, As far as I go, I do expect to be back up and running as soon as the clients are ready, I feel lucky and blessed right now that we are all healthy and doing OK, I do monitor our local emergency and police airwaves, seems a bit of uptick in domestic issues being locked up in one household. This is definitely testing our human psyche, being glued to the TV I find is NOT helpful. o_O

This is what bothers me. It's new. They really haven't studied it all that much. They refer to "mild cases" who "don't even know thy're sick." And yet they'll only test you if your exhibit a sore throat and a fever...or if you licked a toilet seat in Wuhan 14 days ago. Keep my $1200 and buy some more fuQing test kits.

I gleaned the following from one of my Clemson Tiger websites from a fellow alum in SC...gawd bless those of you that are fighting this battle on the front lines.

"What started last week with a few PUIs (COVID rule outs) has now turned into every one of our ICU units being at capacity with 15 of our 30 pts being PUIs or positive just in the ICU. We've set up another wing just for positives that do not need critical care.

The recommendation of worker protection change almost daily. We are already rationing and reusing masks, and not even N95s, just plain old simple masks for longer than suggested periods of use. These masks do not protect from airborne, which the CDC says they cannot rule out that COVID is not airborne.. Why? We do not have the stocks of proper PPE (personal protective equipment) or even bleach, cavicide wipes to maintain for the expected duration of this pandemic.

There are some interventions that we are not doing (manual proning) of a sick 85yo COVID positive pt bc the risk of exposure to the 6-8 staff members is not worth the questionable recovery of this man in severe ARDS. His mortality was already at approx 30% just being in ARDS, add in age and positive COVID and the decision makes sense. Sound familiar?

I believe my hospital system is doing the absolute best they can. I believe we are grossly ill equipped and unprepared to handle this. This is multifactorial and in part, IMO, has to do with lack of manufacturing and a complacent reliance on Chinese production of the equipment we need.

I do not feel safe, I do not trust anyone and will challenge MDs and bosses to keep safe. I am encouraging my coworkers to maintain their own safety above all, even if it means refusing some care in an unsafe situation.

If anyone is still doubting, trust me when I say that I fear for my own well being and those of my coworkers.

I do not mean to inspire fear.. This is a plea to please heed the warnings. Isolate. Wash your hands. DO NOT HOARD what you dont need. LEAVE the masks and other PPE for healthcare workers who are spending hours in harm's way to try and help as many as we can.

I believe in the good of people. I believe that if we are all out best, we can do great things and help one another through.

Y'all be safe, keep your hands clean and smiles big. Live with love and be smart."
