Today, I successfully upgraded my replacement DB1 from EZVIZ FW 191211 to HikVision FW 200321 using Batch Config 3.0.2.6.

While I used Batch Config to change default SSID from softap_serial# to EZVIZ_serial# (use the uppercase and don't change password or anything else, just the SSID), the AP password stayed as softap_AUTHCODE and didn't automatically change back to EZVIZ_AUTHCODE after reboot, so the EZVIZ app couldn't connect. So, I manually connected to the EZVIZ_Serial# AP on my phone using the softap_AUTHCODE password, and then the EZVIZ app was able to reconnect to the DB1 and continue the setup.

I don't know why the original DB1 (manufacture date 03/2020) bricked while upgrading from EZVIZ FW 190304 to HikVision FW 200321 using Batch Config 3.0.3.8, but this time I updated my replacement DB1 (manufacture date 01/2020) from EZVIZ FW 190304 to EZVIZ FW 191211 first using the EZVIZ app, and also used the older Batch Config 3.0.2.6 to then upgrade to HikVision FW 200321.

My original bricked DB1 will be returned to the store since I only bought it last week.
Congrats, Thank you for the share and sorry you went through the brick process but you were very quick in fixing it.

In some reviews of the DB1 I read that it supported Apple HomeKit. Try contacting EZVIZ support and ask them if it does and how to configure it.
That would be awesome. Please let us know if you find anything out.

Do any of you that have the DS-HD1 happen to not use the white faceplate & potentially want to sell or trade it?

I talked a buddy into getting the EZVIZ db variant and he uses it flawlessly with his Camect using rtsp...really got me wanting to try changing fw from my Nelly’s.

Thanks, I updated step #8 of the guide: "Use Batch Config v3.0.2.6 to change default SSID from softap_serial# to EZVIZ_serial# and the password to EZVIZ_authcode (expected values for EVIZ app, mind the uppercase)"

I have two of them (got a replacement DB1 with all accessories included). But I live in Italy. Let me know if you want to arrange the shipment from here.

DavidL and you should get payed by EZViz and/or HikVision. Your support is incredible.
:) Well in Truth everyone here would need to get paid, all the support/help I/we give is from everyone here. The 101 is full of all the DB Owner's experiences and knowledge, I try to make sure I link to each Owner's messages/post in the 101. Kinda of a Networking within this Forum :)

So with this said, I want to Thank Everyone once again for all you have contributed here in the help of others. I know the 101 is a mess, it got out of hand on me but we are in the process of cleaning it up and hopefully making it more organized and searchable.

Peace Out, Mic Drop :)

It's my fault that 101 is still in that status, I have to work on it. I will. Sorry for the delay my friend, it's a difficult period and my head is elsewhere and I need to concentrate to work on that. :(

Thanks, but let's not forget that the experience and knowledge we have about the product is due to the collaboration of everyone in here experimenting and reporting issues. I started just to give back what I learned at the beginning, but I can proudly say I rarely saw a level of community support and knowledge about a single product like this. Great team work. :)

It's only happened a couple times since I got my doorbell last December, but I've noticed the doorbell freezes up sometimes during a thunderstorm when the power flickers or surges. The only way to bring it back is for me to turn off the breaker and turn it back on. My concern is if this were to happen while I'm out of town. Any suggestions on how I could possibly "remotely" reset it?

Smart Plug/Switch/Outlet?

EDIT: Hmmm may have to try one of these:

Cleaner look than a Smart Plug hanging off Outlet, plus individual smart outlet control.

Yes I can confirm, the camera is sensitive to power oscillations. You need a smart relay, like the Shelly, I use them all over the house for home-automation and power metering purposes. Have 15 of them installed. :)

I suggest this model: Shelly 1PM

But take a look to their other products too.

Does anyone know how to create time-lapse video with the DB1 on Synology Nas? I tried looking at the below link but can't find the option to create the task.

Did you install the Smart Time Lapse application? After you installed it, you simply run it from the main list, and Add a Time Lapse task.

Curious, did this happen with the latest BI update? I just updated mine a few days ago but so far have not noticed half view screen, but need to check my footage, just had a family gathering today so might of had a Doorbell pressed while we were all out back in our pool.

So I went back to check today, did not see any DB button press, my family usually just walks in, they have their own codes :), so no half screens, but did see some No Signal Captures, which I have Never seen before. So what changed on my end, well I did install a new AP this week, also the BI upgrade. I will have to do some checking on why this is occurring and I was just bragging to everyone today about my new AP 's :)

UPDATE: No more "Doorbell: No signal" issues in BI. As said before I never saw this before and I have been doing a lot on my new network lately. Finally got all my VLANs/Subnets setup, thanks Pete

So is the best way to configure "camera-based" motion detection with batch config? Only reason I ask is because I've tried to create a custom motion zone in batch config but when I click save it gets rid of what I created and boxes fill the full frame so I'm not sure it actually saves.

Before I click save:

After I click save:

At first i had the same result as you describe. Just whipe all the boxes. Save it. Then select a small zone click save again. Then select the complete zone. And save
Also, how did you get this screen enabled? Mine's all greyed out:

@KlaverBoer solution to setting up the Motion Detection area in Batch Configuration tool should be added to 101.

@nepats197, Motion Detection in BCT appears to be disabled/greyed out under the EZVIZ F/W, but is enabled with the HikVision F/W.

This is the face plate I’m after.
