Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

One should also consider that dying is only one bad endpoint of COVID-19.

Lots of people get a "moderate" case where they feel horrible for weeks on end and full recovery takes months. I know several people in 40s-50s with no major pre-existing conditions who went down this path. They survived but the disease is frequently very rough on survivors.

And not everybody fully recovers. Organ damage and persistent clotting issues seem to be a lasting consequence for some people.

Possibly. All the articles I have seen from experts at CDC and other universities keep saying words like 'may', 'might', or 'could'. These words to me are code for we don't know. The disease hasn't even been around a year. How can they prove long term effects directly related to covid?

For example, many survivors with no record of clotting problems suddenly start having them after Covid. Similarly, reduced lung capacity and persistent damage to the lungs is well documented in this disease and is easily directly attributable. Long term can mean months. I agree with you that we don't know yet the "permanent" parts of the equation which we will only learn in time.

I'm not saying its not possible, but the way they word it insinuates it is a real, known, lifelong problem. We just don't know...yet

Why do you have anxiety, as you can see from the CDC's own numbers that there is insignificant risk. This pandemic has been taken lightly all over the county with mass riots and protests. CDC doesnt seem to care about those.
I never really ever cared much for the CDC.
The only time I did was in the movie Outbreak with Dustin Hoffman. And that was like twenty five years ago...

Everything should open up again, why you ask? Because this is only exacerbating global poverty as well as overall mental and physical health of the human population. Even the birds are pissed off even though they have wings to fly. Sad to see British Airways retire their fleet of Boeing 747's. Also sad to see Airbus A380's piling up in the boneyard. :(

Looks like Eli Lilly has suspended one of their vax trials, that makes 3 in just the last couple weeks along with J&J and AstraZeneca..

Most of these pauses resume after a safety review and risk assessment. Keeping good thoughts.

Why, because they are not going to make any money. The Conrona will be gone and it will pointless for them to make it. Just like the swine flu.
