Well, our tests came back negative, which is a relief of course. I'm very surprised though. I thought for sure it would come back positive with the amount of interaction we had. It's possible they were infected last Monday, a day after we hung out with them, and the symptoms appeared quicker than normal (around 1.5 days). The other possibility is that we have already had it. Either way, back to normal life for us (mostly).

Me thinks something is afoot. NYT saying the hair on fire will be coming to an end soon, leftist, so called, journalists attacking Pelosi and Biden. Did I miss the sun rising in the west this morning?
That is what I said in the other thread.
I thought I may needed to make a doctor's appointment because I thought I was going nutz. Glad you spoke up and seen it as well.
Oh! Let me cancel that appointment...

Glad to hear all is well...
It is possible that you have had it did not even know it.
I believe my entire family had it back in the beginning of year..

I had some contact with people from Germany in the first week of Feb though my work, and my wife and I got many of the common symptoms minus the fever about a week later, but it lasted only a couple days for me and about a week for her. We've been saying this whole time that we might have had it then, even though they say it shouldn't have been here in the states that early. Back then, I just thought it was flu. And it could've been. Who knows?

I had it for two weeks back in February; took almost 4 different medications, one being Amoxicillin.

I traveled the first week of March for a work meeting, and got sick promptly upon returning. Flu like symptoms for two days, mild fever. My wife got same thing the next week. This was before the $hit really hit the fan. Wondered if it was COVID-19, but realistically it was a warning never to eat Airport grade Panda Express food again. Six weeks later my wife and I went through serology screening for COVID-19 antibodies and were both negative.

Jesse, I'm really happy to hear your negative results. Hopefully it stays that way!

Here in Indiana, things are rapidly going downhill. New cases per day are as high as they have ever been, and friends who are doctors and EMTs report a lot more serious cases showing up. Hospital utilization is on the way up but is nowhere near critical yet.

Apparently weddings and other big group events are a big part of the problem. Restrictions have progressively eased and family/friend spread is going on a lot.

Meanwhile Indiana is now on Chicago's quarantine list and some states are reportedly planning to do the same.

But of course the politicians in office are promoting a get back to normal narrative; the death spike won't hit until after the election.

We will be going to the polling place on election day even if it's only to drop off the paper ballot that we got, unsolicited, from the Great Nanny State, Comrade Murphy, Commissar. Even the "experts", like Fauci, say voting in person can be done safely and very easily. We are obligated to listen to the "experts", aren't we?

One thing to consider with Sweden is that they are among the healthiest people in the world. That can certainly skew their infection and death rates down pretty significantly. Compare that to the US where the obesity rate probably far surpasses the CCP Virus infection rate.

They locked down, sure. But I think it was after most if not all of their population was infected. Some say their numbers dropped BECAUSE of the lockdown, but that doesn't make sense because their numbers went down to pretty much zero, where every other country still had much higher deaths, infections while in lockdown.

I agree with you for lower death rates. But infection rates? You can get infected regardless of your health, and it seems they are not getting infected any longer.
