Does someone know how to flash back to the DB1 20191112 ( I think) firmware. If yes, how can I do it please :)
Thanks for your help!

From the 101 I sent you...I have not backtracked your messages, is your DB Solid Red? The below links are how others put a firmware on a SD-Card to fix their Bricked DB.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:
SOLID RED BUTTON LIGHT; = BRICKED!!! (UPDATE: We have a solution to fix bricked DBs, try this by - Skinah or argus) (So Far (as of August 2020) THREE people to date has been able to recover their Doorbell past this point/problem, see usafltg)

I have a strange behavior. It's solid blue when even I reset the db1. So I can't ever go into configuration mode. It's associated to my ssid, I can ping, I can nmap also the device but it's no more linked to ezviz app. I deleted the device and now unable to add it since I cannot put it in configuration mode (blue blinking)

Solid Blue means it is connected to your network. Give me a minute and I will supply some links that should help you.

Anyone figure out the change notes to the new EZVIZ firmware build 200904? If we get custom/paintable motion zones I'm all for it but if it's adding a new language or 'fixing minor bugs' not going to bother.

I'm not sure what the new firmware does other than 'fixing things' but it didn't fix my chime issue, unfortunately. I updated the firmware, deleted the doorbell from the app and re-added it and the mechanical chime still doesn't ring.

I just got off the phone with the manager at EZVIZ, Sandesh, regarding my doorbell replacement. They've approved it, which is great, but just prepare yourselves guys. You're going to have to jump through a lot of hoops to get approved, then you're going to have to pay for return shipping and probably to buy a dumb doorbell in the meantime.

I argued with him but he refused to budge, stating that it's their policy that users have to pay return shipping if they have an issue after 30 days. Seems like a garbage policy to me. Here's hoping the replacement works. Regardless, it may be the last EZVIZ product I ever purchase...

When you re-added it, did it give you an option to select your doorbell/ door chime type? I've had to do this before last time the app updated, door chime no longer works...when re-adding it was able to select the mechanical doorbell and then it worked again. For whatever reason, when it updated the EZVIZ app, it defaulted to no chime; you need to explicitly select mechanical chime else it won't ring. EZVIZ needs to add an option to on the fly change door bell type within the app.

Yeah I made sure to select mechanical chime when re-adding it. It was actually already selected when that page of the setup loaded, but I made sure to tap mechanical chime anyways, just to make sure. Additionally, I have the Guarding Vision app installed and connected to the doorbell and when I load it, it shows the mechanical chime configured.

I use my cameras with Blue Iris so I normally firewall them off from the internet but apparently I forgot to add this one to the firewall rules last year when I installed it. I am guessing that it decided to update itself as it suddenly stopped working today. After a bunch of troubleshooting, I discovered that the password had been truncated. The last two characters were cut off. I changed it in Blue Iris and it was able to connect to the camera again.

I also noticed last week that the chime had stopped working at some point. Not sure when. I DO have the power kit installed with it. Very annoying.

Oy, not sure then. Interested to see if the replacement fixes your issue so can find out if it's hardware or software related.

Could anyone tell me the hole spacing on the back plate of a DB1 or similar model.

I've got approval from my condo administration to change the doorbell but the screw hole must not exceed the current "old style" doorbell frame.

thanks

Just in case anyone is interested, here are some pics of my doorbell hooked to a wemos device (running Tasmota).
I've soldered 2 wires directly to the doorbell's physical button so I can detect when it is pressed. This way, I don't need to rely on the temperamental behaviour of the chime+powerkit.

The wemos device has other duties too, like a timed unlatching of a gate, relaying 433Mhz signal to another chime within the home, and also mobile device notification.

My DB1 was replaced 4 months ago because it didn't even turn on. The RMA procedure here in Italy was very fast, they sent UPS pickup & return. In 4-5 days I had my new one back. Everything free of course. In EU we have a minimum of 2y of full warranty.

This is a great mod. I would do it so that the tasmota device sets an MQTT so I would pick it up via my automation Hub. That's what I'm doing with the firefly electronics doorbell sensor.

Great job there.

My first DB1 wouldn't turn on. After getting my second DB1 (nelly), I thought no-harm, so I opened up first DB1, tested, nothing wrong, reassembled and it started working again and is still working.
There are 2 spring retaining clips directly connecting the external wires into internal pads, which I believe becomes too loose when the unit heats up.
