Kyle Rittenhouse, accused in Kenosha shootings, will not face gun charges in Lake County over AR-15-style rifle, prosecutors say

Kyle Rittenhouse will not face gun charges in Lake County related to the AR-15-style weapon he is charged with using to kill two men and wound a third during violent protests in Kenosha in August, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

An Antioch police investigation found that the Smith & Wesson .223 caliber rifle “was purchased, stored and used in Wisconsin” and turned up no evidence the 17-year-old “physically possessed” the weapon in Illinois, according to a news release from the office of Lake County State’s Attorney Mike Nerheim. The news release does not reveal who is believed to have bought or held the gun before the shooting.

Anybody else notice that Rosenbaum from this incident and the Black Guns Matter guy from the shooting at the Denver Patriots Rally had the same job, inciting the 'good guys' in front of the camera? Wrong guy dead in Denver.

A tactic that has been taught by Antifa for years and more recently by BLM is to run up on someone, preferably from behind or the side, making motions that you are going to hit them, but abruptly stop very close to them and raise your hands like you are surrendering. If that does not elicit a strike from the person, then they drop their arms in a striking position hoping for a strike and then repeat the cycle all over again. You can see this happen in the video where Grosskreutz points his handgun at Kyle but then raises his hands in a surrender position and Kyle lowers his rifle muzzle a little and then Grosskreutz lowers his arms and points the gun at Kyle for a second time and Kyle then shoots Grosskreutz in the bicep.

Rittenhouse's extradition challenge fails. Now to Wisconsin to face charges.

I don't know what life is like in Lin Wood's world, but it doesn't sound that good to me.

"If Court follows law, Kyle may be free today. Wisconsin will have to decide whether to re-charge him," Wood tweeted. "An adverse ruling will be immediately appealed."

"Kyle lost his habeas motion. His criminal lawyers felt strongly that decision was erroneous.
Kyle had absolute right of appeal to file on Monday.
Unbeknownst to lawyers, Kyle was taken to Wisconsin which effectively mooted his appeal.
Something is not right with these events." Lin Wood (@LLinWood) October 30, 2020

Bail was set at $2 million for Rittenhouse on Monday.

Lawyer Lin Wood says they're still $600k short.

Rittenhouse is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 3

Whatever happens next, the left is making their point that defending yourself in America today is too hard, expensive and personally damaging for most to stomach.

That bail is ridiculous. Bail is supposed to be an amount that is not meant to keep someone in jail until trial. It is supposed to be set at an amount that is obtainable but will ensure the accused will show up to court. He has already demonstrated he is not a flight risk. He turned himself in.

Kyle Rittenhouse freed from jail today on $2MM bond, raised for his cause despite GoFundMe and another crowdfunding site taking down campaigns to raise money in support of him and to get him released from jail.

It's too bad he doesn't rate the treatment of domestic terrorists burning, looting and shooting police in our 'brave new world.' No charges for them, and no need for bail.

Home for Thanksgiving. Thanks to his legal team and the support of those who still value American ideals.

Kyle Rittenhouse says,
"No I don’t regret it. I feel I had to protect myself. I feel like I would have died if I didn’t."

Glad to see they couldn't break your spirit, young man. Stay strong.

Adding civilians to the mix complicates things.
You don't think civilians have the right to be armed?

Rittenhouse had as much right to be there as the rioters burning and looting the city. Even though he was too young to legally possess the AR he's within his rights to defend himself with it if necessary.

COVID check? It's my understanding dependents don't get stimulus checks.

The AR didn't cross state lines. So says his lawyer.

He didn't start any trouble, he finished it. He defended himself when he was attacked.

The police weren't protecting shit. Ask Kenosha store owners.

If this kid had half a brain cell, he would have understand this was a high risk, low reward decision.
By this logic, I'm glad our Forefathers had the same level of intelligence. It allows us to be armchair quarterbacks, weighing in on this situation today.

The kid was a Patriot. I wish there were more like him. If there were, we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now. Not a bunch of whiny snowflakes stealing and burning down their neighbors' property because in their warped mind they feel like they were somehow wronged.

I'm not sure where I said civilians don't have the right to be armed. If I did say that above, please correct me.

He had every right to be there. I have every right to yell "fire" in a crowded theater. He has every right to obtain an AR, underage, via straw purchase. Just because we have rights to do something, doesn't automatically make it legal (or smart). He has the right to defend himself, but you better believe his actions leading up to the event will be scrutinized and weighed.

He used unemployment benefits to purchase the weapon. See here.

What a massive break, his lawyer is paying off with that development.

Again - big picture; he absolutely should have defended himself. I'm not saying he should have laid down and done nothing, that's absurd to imagine. But, should he have been there to protect stores with insured items? (Although, the insurance process can be a PITA). But, it's simply not worth escalation. Let's be real, he is a young dude pretending to be tacti-cool. If he truly believes in protecting and serving, he should have enlisted. But that option may be shot, by his own hand.

Each one of those looters and terrorists deserved a bullet to the head. It is obvious that you have never built a business with blood sweat and tears if you can tell someone to sit back and let it be destroyed because there is insurance coverage (big assumption on your part).
Your comments about rights indicate you dont even have a primitive understanding of basic civics. Too bad that you school failed you.
One last point - you can use unemployment benefits for whatever the hell you want. That said, you didnt even read the article, he used the stimulus check - again you can use it for whatever the hell you want. Thank god he used it to save his life and terminate that of a killer terrorist.
I pray that you are assaulted by antifa and blm. Take your white privilege and shove it up your ass.

You implied it by writing "Let the police and national guard do their thing. Adding civilians to the mix complicates things."

Earlier this summer Antifa/BLM put a call on social media to converge on a small town in Oregon and roll 'em up. "Give them a taste of blm justice" I think was the term used. The idea being, I suppose, that small town 'hicks' would be easy targets.

The people of that town turned out to "welcome" them armed and ready to defend themselves and their town. They stood guard in every store front and confined the would-be terrorists to a small vacant lot. Police turned out, too. City, County and State more to protect the thugs from the citizens than the other way around. After a couple hours of shouting their stupid slogans they packed up and left.

This illustrates the difference between citizens protecting themselves proactively and just waiting for the police or national guard to do it for them as they did in Kenosha. A few more like Rittenhouse might have saved Kenosha, and the rest, too.

lul, death penalty for looting. Nice.

You're kidding, right? You skipped spell-check class.

Productive, well thought out, and persuasive. I'm open to having a discussion about this. Seriously - offer up some convincing arguments. If this is how you respond to outside ideas, then you are too far gone. Sorry.
Yes absolutely the death penalty for destroying someone's life work. Regular hard working folks have had enough of this shit and people like you. My apologies for not running every comment through the spell checker:rolleyes:
I dont want or need your discussion. I am not here to convince you. You are a political operative as evidenced by you recently joining this forum and posting exclusively in this thread. Now I am going to twitter you.
