Suspected witness tampering is uncovered in the Kyle Rittenhouse case as star witness Gaige Grosskreutz, who aimed his gun at Rittenhouse, had charges dropped by the prosecutor only days before being a witness in the case. We reported on Gaige Grosskreutz multiple times since last August when...
I watched a guy with a home-built 6.5 Creedmoor shoot groups where all the rounds were touching or overlapping at 100 yards. He said it took hundreds of different handload variations to close in on the exact bullet type and powder load to get those results with that gun. I just don't have time or expertise to get into it that deep.
I was surprised by the 62 grain Hornady rounds I shot-- I thought the heavier rounds would group lower than the American Eagle. Instead they were the same elevation-- just slightly left.
^^^ Does the barrel have a right hand twist? That would add thrust to the left as the bullet exits the barrel.
I used to fool with reloading back when it was really economical. I spent a lot of time on .223 and found the "perfect" load for my Mini14. Held 1" groups at 100 yards with open sights. I wish I still had those targets and the range to work with so I could compare what my aim is today.
PS - Back then 500 rounds a week was more or less standard with the .223 for me, plus another 500-1000 with a wheel gun at closer ranges.
The trial was needed by the left as a megaphone to warn off others who might witness BLM/Antifa lawlessness in their town and decide they also have the right to protect themselves and their property from burning and looting. It's a disgrace that this was left to a 17 year-old, albeit with the instincts and weapon handling skills some seasoned pros will never attain.
The verdict has already been pronounced in the media and the left is busy threatening more violence if the courtroom jury doesn't go along.
Wouldn't it be great to see the innocent go free, and sue the shite out of all the loudmouth slanderers including Brandon, and the rioters arrested and punished?
Land of the Free and Home of the Brave! Somebody should start something like that somewhere. Everybody would come.
Prosecution closing just finished. Aside from a few absurdities, I have to admit if this were all I heard it would be an easy guilty vote. I hope the defense lawyer is good enough to shred him.
Yaw is one thing-- it can/does happen on penetration, but it usually contributes to the disintegration of a bullet. You can see that with fragment path deviations in ballistics gel from the straight line. When you use a word like "tumbling" it implies something to people ignorant of firearms that is not true-- Bullets do not go ripping through flesh like a fidget spinner. Wound cavitation happens without any yaw or tumbling-- it's a function of bullet energy being absorbed or transferred to the flesh it hits.
For the umpteen zillion ballistics gel videos out there on youtube, I find it very strange that there are NO videos that actually show a bullet yaw so much if flips end for end 180 degrees or more. If you find one, please post it as I would love to see it.
sidenote: One video I did find was some seriously flawed bullshit propaganda from none other than the Washington Post. I mean-- a guy with a solemn voice over top of dramatic music just MUST be right! Be sure to read all the comments... LOL
It's deliberately designed into certain military bullets. They're designed to be unbalanced and thus unstable when they hit flesh. It's a way of creating a hollow point style wound cavity without breaching the Geneva Convention.
As I've said already, I don't think it was the case here especially from an AR. It's most likely the fact the muscle / fat of the bicep is quite loose and the shear energy tore it away as Looney pointed out.
It also could have been hydraulic shock. A high speed projectile, ~2500fps or higher, hitting a high water content area will cause a pretty significant shockwave. The bicep, even in Arnold when in his prime, isn't all that big. Think about what you see in ballistic gelatin, the white area just inside where the bullet impacts is that shockwave.

Exactly. An FMJ bullet hitting ballistics gel and roughly maintaining trajectory through it will generate a massive cavitation effect from that shock wave. The appearance of that cavitation is not proof that the bullet is "tumbling".
