I finally have 3 cams up and running... I cannot figure our why there is so much "noise" or why they are so grainy at night...

I tested both inside and they do not have the grainy look. Its driving me crazy because I am not looking forward to running new cable if that it the problem.

These are at factory settings. Both are Hikvision DS-2332-I 4mm. I have included a daytime and night screen shot of each. Any advice or thoughts on what might be the issue?

The Driveway cam is of particular concern as it is super "noisy". I REALLY appreciate the help. I couldn't do this without this forum.Driveway ds-2332 4mm night.jpgDriveway ds-2332 4mm day.jpg

They are always going to be a bit grainy at night.

Turn WDR down to below 10 and turn Noise Reduction up to... well max 100.

You might need to increase the exposure a little, but too much will cause blurring.

I'd personally, video less of your walls (both front and back), it makes a huge difference.

That is the tradeoff with most budget 3mp cameras. They will not be as good as the 1.3 or 2mp in low light. See the lognse thread if you are looking for better images at night. Note those cameras have not been used much here so long term reliability is unknown.
It is NOT a cable problem. IP cameras do not exhibit this type of issue as a result of poor cabling.

Wow great info guys thanks! Maybe I will buy something other than Hikvision if I expand...
Someone mentioned more light, how about more IR light? will More IR light reduce noise or just make it brighter and still grainy.

Whats interesting is the Hik Bullets 3MP - 2032 are not as grainy as the 2332 so far.

What is the best camera in your opinion for the $125-$130 range?

The 2032 will be just as grainy if not more than the 2332. It simply depends on the location you mount them in and the amount of ambient and ir light. Unless you mount them side by side in the same location you cannot compare them.
You are always better off adding more light vs ir. Too much IR can cause washout. Light in general is always a good thing to have on from a security perspective. Use LED bulbs so the draw is low and you dont have to replace them often.
