Here is another episode of the flashing night vision! Also displays how Hit-or-Miss the 4x is at night as to focusing. Very inconsistent. Did not experience the flashing at all, yesterday.

That image quality can't be right...even with poor IR. Have you tried changing some of the gain/exposure settings? I notice on my ptz that if I leave the gain limit at default, it will keep the shutter speed high at night and crank the gain up giving a noisy image. Limit gain and image quality becomes better without getting darker, as it automatically lowers the shutter once gain limit is reached.

Yeah, I had the same flashing when I was playing with the settings, doesn't do it again. I also downgraded the firmware which helped.

I have. The only thing I found to improve the image was to push the 3D DNR to 100 but then there is not enough IR. Image is too dark.

No wonder why they are no selling this model... I opened up a dispute because I am not too happy with night image at all. If there is no fix I will just get another 10x.

Turning the gain down stops the flashing and improves the image but now it can't see across the street except the reflection of the IR.

Now see if you can adjust the shutter manually, my guess is either a firmware or hardware issue preventing the shutter speed from going low enough at night.

1/30 is it on manual and that is darker than auto exposure. It's better but not nearly like the 10x.

Tomorrow's another night!

They forgot to add "May require some assembly" on that camera website when I brought two of the 4x. I was going to use it as stand alone with FTP but SD memory card wasn't working on both camera and when I asked Monica about it.

She said I need to solder some points on the SD memory card circuit board and she send me photos where to solder at.

I was an electronic engineer until I switch over to IT and Network specialist so I still have my surface mount soldering station and some tools to do the job and so I need to go in the basement and dig into some boxes to locate the equipments.

I haven't purchase any 10x V2 just the V1 and now I am not sure about getting the V2. I know 10x have better result but I am reading that power module is going out on it in other threads is making me uneasy.

I repaired the solders on the SD module and now SD memory card is detected and working in the camera but still trying to figure out how to capture motion detect and continue recording at same time. Look like it won't allow this and I have to choose one or other.

I learned in Playback page, when you search for a video file and then hover your mouse over each filename that search bring up in the list, it will display date and time and length of recording.

I also suspect the that SD module was causing shorts since it was touching other circuit boards. When I put it back I had to install it avoid touching other boards in the camera.

Hi Bill, can you post the pictures she sent so we have them for future use?

Thanks, Bob

Here are the photo sent to me to resolder the SD memory card module. they just said to solder those points to fix it. I think they may have been finding cold solder joints along those points. I have done one of my camera already and SD card is working on it now. I am getting ready to do the second one but I will start a new thread and add photos in it.

I am about to open a dispute as well, I just sent Monica another message and her reply was "it is a cheaper camera than the 10X. Buy another 10X and I will give you a discount".

Being cheaper is no explanation for such bad image quality at night. I'd ask for partial discount and say then maybe I'd consider buying another 10x, otherwise will leave negative feedback and go ahead with the dispute.

Tbh, you should be harsh. The camera has issues and they're basically just asking for you to give them more business to get any compensation.
