Ukraine related: Was Ukraine Government Is Handing Out Guns To Citizens, What Happened to Gun Control?

I both do and don't see the point about NATO. Some draw comparisons with the Cuban Missile crisis in terms of provocation but there's a big difference - NATO is simply a defensive pact. Cuba was about putting nukes next to the US. I think if NATO decided to put short range nukes in Ukraine, then there would be valid point. But apart from speculators and Russian claims, I don't believe that was ever the plan.

I also agree, most ordinary people simply want to live their lives in peace and it's money grabbing greedy politicians who want war over resources or simply to cover up their policitical failings by using it as distraction. This side of the provocation of an invasion of another country (no further comment here), I can't see any valid reason for war.
You need brush up on history. The Soviet Union putting nukes in Cuba is because unknown to the public at that time (even today the masses don't know) the US was the first to put nukes in Turkey and Italy. At that time Turkey was sharing a land border with USSR and very close to Crimea black sea fleet. So the Cuban missile crisis was direct response by USSR.

I think the US has a point about NATO contributions - every country should be honouring it's agreement to 3%. Trump is 100% correct on that. As for other funding such as the war in Ukraine, Europe has put in twice as much as the US, it hasn't been repaid either, and anything the US is putting in is contributing to it's own security and global stability so it has to be seen with those 2 things in mind.

Right. This is what he is HOPING for...doesn't make it true. As my Dad used to say, 'Son, shit in one hand and wish in the other. See which one gets there first.'

Next batter up, EU...pretty sure it'll be a strike out.

Eff both of them.

Ceasefires don't automatically lead to peace, and the current efforts to push through a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine might be counterproductive. In this video, I discuss what it requires for ceasefires to be conducive to actual peace negotiations. Unfortunately, the current partial ceasefire on energy infrastructure doesn't meet the requirements and might even undermine to the process of achieving peace.

Let them slog it out for another three years. I'm cool with that. If Ukraine needs some help I'm also cool with loaning them money in exchange for mineral rights or land. If Russia tries to take our mineral rights or land I'm cool with sanctions or whatever to crush them. Just no more grifts to the grifters.
