Any downsides to adding an IP Camera to a Hikvision NVR?

Thanks, I'll plug the camera into the switch first, before I go running any cable. The NVR is a DS-7716NI-I4/16P 16-Channel 12MP 4K NVR, the one camera is a PTZ Hikvision OEM, the model # escapes me.

Any downsides to adding an IP Camera to a Hikvision NVR?

I want to add a few new cameras to my Hikvision NVR, but the wiring is problematic in a couple of cases. But if I go through the Attic I could run the Cat6 to my upstairs POE switch. I know I will use up a camera slot(s) on the NVR, but any other downsides, like bandwidth. I'm running a...

My Hikvision NVR won't stop beeping

Thanks! I found the misbehaving camera. Strangely it didn't shut up until I exited the menu. I rarely use the NVR directly, as it's too far away. LOL. The camera view actually shows the notification bell on the individual view screen. No idea why killing ALL notifications didn't fix this...

Thanks, I tried option one already.

My Hikvision NVR won't stop beeping

I was playing with the configuration settings in the browser trying to get my NVR to send push notifications to Hik Connect on my phone, which never did work. This also 'seemed' to make my NVR beep incessantly, mostly related to motion events I think. I undid my changes, but the beeping...

    Hikvision AcuSense PCI-B18Z2S

Thanks Alistair, The one location I have in mind has motion controlled lights, but it's based on an ISY994, so there is some delay. I could either leave the lights on or go with a motion controlled mini flood if more light is required. I'll likely stick with the original option for the other...

    Hikvision AcuSense PCI-B18Z2S

Yes, a picture on eBay matches yours. What type of audio device works with this? I've seen the Hikvision Mic, but it's not terminated. I know, I can add a 3.5mm plug. I was actually looking for a more discrete Mic. I could buy a ColorVu with the built-in Mic, but this area is right beside the...

    Hikvision AcuSense PCI-B18Z2S

Anyone have any experience with the Hikvision AcuSense PCI-B18Z2S camera? I gather it has a motorized lens, but it doesn't say so in the description, like it does for the non-IDS version. I know it's POE, but I don't see any pictures showing the actual connection. I saw a video of the non-IDS...

    Unsupported Stream Type

I know this is basic, but I haven't added a camera in a while. I added an 8MP 2387C to my old NN7716, with Chinese firmware. I know it does not support H265 with it's current FW. I adjusted the resolution and changed the codec to H264. It still says unsupported Stream on the multi-screen...

Exposing my Hikvision cameras to Alexa

Alexa can see the cameras plugged into my Hikvision NVR, but it can't stream them of course. I was reading that I could plug my cameras into a POE switch directly and loopback the NVR and it should expose the cameras to Alexa without using Monocle. Anyone tried this? I guess I'll just move one...

    PTZIP204WX4IR camera mounting?

OK, I found the manual in French with lots of pretty pictures. The answer is you can't get there from here.

    PTZIP204WX4IR camera mounting?

I bought an ANPVIZ PTZIP204WX4IR a while back with the mount. The mounting bracket on the camera is a disk that mounts to the wall mount with two screws (not supplied). Then the camera inserts onto the mounting disk and rotates to attach it to the disk on the wall mount. But there does not seem...

can I set my Hikvision NVR to record pre and post motion events?

Way back when I used to record my cameras form a PC interface card with Averrmedia software. I think. I could set how many seconds to record before a motion event and how many seconds to record after a monition event. Setting up masking and motion sensitivity was also much simpler than it is...

IVMS 4200 causing my PC to spontaneously shutdown

My IVMS 4200 has not worked for a while, so I uninstalled it, repaired the registry and reinstalled the latest version. Wow the picture quality is so much better than logging into the NVR and it is very responsive. My custom view won't load for now, but at least it's working. But, the PC...
