Hi Andy, I'm looking for a quote on a system but need help selecting components, if you don't mind assisting. From reading these forums I like the Dahua starlights (neighborhood is very dark) but don't know all the models. Looking for a balance between price/features. Here's what I think so far:
Porch: mini dome
Back porch: mini dome also?
2-3 others: starlight eyeballs?
NVR: 8 channel w/POE

I really hope you can help me... I really screwed up.. I had my IPC-HDW5231R-ZE working perfectly but when messing with the settings I wanted to see what enabling HTTPS would do for me.. Well, now I cant log in to the camera! Please tell me there is a way to do a factory reset on this camera... man i feel stupid...

I've been looking at both the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and the IPC-HDW5831R-ZE. Does the IPC-HDW5831R-ZE come in black? I'm just starting out and this would be my first camera. Which of them would you recommend to start with?

Preferred: Eye \ Turret style, or mini-bullet.
Field of view: ~90
Res: >= 3mp (less blur at night is preferred)
Mini-SD storage.
Will be placed under the second level eaves, range <10m
Not a fan of the traditional IR as they attract spiders

I would also consider a dome camera that can be moved around, however when mounted on a wall vertically, it would need to be able to point straight down...
