What is the difference between Loryta and EmpireTech brands of IP cameras?

Thank you to all who provided the clarification regarding the cams that are variations of Dahua. I had always wondered of the Loryta brand. Now i know it is a Dahua OEM variant. Question: To get the genuine (international version where the firmware can be updated) cam from Andy, would it be...

video card from my PC parts bucket

thank you for your feedback. Yes, it is an nVidia card, GS8400. I will hold on to it till I deploy deepstack. Video cards are so pricey these days, don't need to get one if the one I have will work for the need. In checking, I was able to find win 10 drivers for it on nVidia site. Found that...

Blue Iris Max HDD Size Limit?

These details are golden. As a newbie with BI, home security cams, etc, I am starting to build my own, personal wiki and save it in a word document for future reference. Realizing there's an official wiki but these questions and fantastic feedbacks come at a rapid fire and probably don't make...

video card from my PC parts bucket

So, a lot of have us keep old motherboards, RAM, network cards, sound card, video cards - you name it. To be honest, I rarely have gone back to my pile of old stuff and reused anything. The only exception was a NIC. To that end, I wondered about something specifically about video cards. I have...

VLAN configuration Dell optiplex with native Intel NIC on motherboard

I have just intalled a 2nd NIC (TP-Link) in the BI machine. After installing their drivers and NIC management software, there's an option to select VLAN ID. since Intel NIC won't allow that, no worries, I'll connect the cams using the tp-link NIC which will have a different VLAN

how do you isolate cameras from the inetent?

Thank you for the screenshot and the details you provided. This is my speed to learn from. I do have some questions. Thank you for clarifying about the NTP port, granting it access. 1) Why did you choose to put the BI server along with the cams then blocked that server? From what I've seen...

VLAN configuration Dell optiplex with native Intel NIC on motherboard

In researching and configuring my Dell optiplex 5050, I've run into a roadblock. As I prepare the optiplex for use with BI software, I am downloading and updating the drivers, all around. In doing so, I have also updated the onboard Intel network port that is on the motherboard. I have also...

how do you isolate cameras from the inetent?

Reviving this thread :p @samplenhold - I have been fixated with the two attachments you provided. First, really appreciate you showing the diagram at the simplest form, I (non techie) was able to follow it. Of the two diagrams you provided, the one with VPN router would be where I fit in...

using ubiquiti cam with Blue Iris

Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated. The question is that if connected with BI, would they even work? If so, what can be expected out of them? While I have not tested them if there are even functional, selling them would be something to consider to those who are already on that...

using ubiquiti cam with Blue Iris

anyone actively using ubiquiti cameras G3 flex and G3 pros (might be G3's) with blue iris ? what has been your experience with them with BI? I have a real estate agent friend, dealing with a foreclosure/bank repo house that has some of those installed. She asked if I wanted to come down and...

    Ubiquiti switch

yes ! I have multiple unifi switches. you can daisy chain, no issues. Majority, not all (going pure by my memory, not a researched answer - LOL) are managed. I believe they DO have an 8 port that is a non-poe but the cost is almost as one that is 4+4 (4 poe, 4 non poe) ports.
