There's theories that this thing has already mutated. So maybe it's a different strain already? But from what I gathered this is just 1 confirmed instance? So I agree at this point. But I also haven't been comfortable with the 2 week quarentines. I believe it should be a minimum of 3 weeks, ideally a full month.
70% will show infection sympton within 1 week, 25% 2 weeks. Some of them 4 weeks.

Especially when those people lack the financial ability to take off even one single day.
Ya, they can't afford to take a day off, but they're walking around with a $500 cell phone, they pay a $120 cable bill, new shoes, jewelry, makeup, and they eat out 3 times a week.

No wonder they can't afford to take a day off..

I stopped feeling sorry for people who waste their money on stupid things and then complain they can't weather an emergency..

Headline: AP Confirms: Democrats Are Lying to the Public About Coronavirus

Story: An Associated Press fact check confirms what Breitbart News reported earlier this week: that Democrat presidential candidates are falsely claiming that President Donald Trump cut funding and personnel needed to fight coronavirus.

On Tuesday, Breitbart News fact-checked “mostly false” claims by former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg during the Democrat debate in South Carolina. Bloomberg claimed that Trump had “fired” a pandemic specialist at the White House, and “defunded” the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The implication: Trump was to blame for the spread of coronavirus — even though there have been just over a dozen cases and no fatalities in the U.S.

The truth: the pandemic specialist had left voluntarily during a reorganization of the bloated National Security Council (NSC), and the CDC cuts — as the agency wound down its Ebola response — were only proposed, not enacted.

The AP confirmed Thursday, in an article titled “AP FACT CHECK: Democrats distort coronavirus readiness,” that much of what Democrats are saying about Trump’s response to the coronavirus challenge is simply not true:

Democratic presidential contenders are describing the federal infectious-disease bureaucracy as rudderless and ill-prepared for the coronavirus threat because of budget cuts and ham-handed leadership by President Donald Trump. That’s a distorted picture. For starters, Trump hasn’t succeeded in cutting the budget.

He’s proposed cuts but Congress ignored him and increased financing instead. The National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aren’t suffering from budget cuts that never took effect.

Of concern is the antibody dependent enhancement (ADE) that has been cited in several papers - indicating a SARS-like increase in severity on re-infection. During the development of the SARS vaccine, they discovered that as the antibodies began dropping (after vaccination) at a certain threshold, a re-infection would actually weaponize the remaining antibodies, using them to enter immune cells with considerably increased efficiency. That resulted in a 'cytokine storm' where the immune system simply went bezerk leading to complete organ failure happened - much like in the final stages of sepsis. Thus there was never a SARS vaccine that was deployed. The thought is that SARS mutated in a fashion that decreased its protein spike effectiveness, and it ultimately burned out on its own. In most cases, mutations (transcription errors) are detrimental to the virus.

Whether this patient was simply harboring a dormant/less active COVID-19 like someone with mono/shingles/etc - and it reactivated, or if she was really infected with a second exposure may never be determined.

But, what if the ADE theories are correct. What if re-infection can happen - and what if the limited antibodies from the initial infection all but insure a catastrophic outcome. So much is unknown, but it is enough to keep an ear to the research.

This is my virus buster. Its a UV-C light that emits ionizing radiation.. the kind that gives you cancer as it strips electrons from atoms and breaks up DNA. It kills viruses, bacteria, mold, and even your houseplants if you expose them to it.

The unit emits Ultraviolet at 250nm wavelength with an intensity of 240 microwatts per second per square centimeter at 1 meter distance. Most all viruses, except for one or two rare ones, require less than 30,000 microwatts of absorbed UV energy to be killed. So 30,000 divided by 240 = 125 seconds of exposure to achieve a 4 log reduction (99.99%) Leave it in one spot for two or three minutes, and everything within line of sight and a 3 to 4 foot radius of the lights will be dead.

My 7 year old daughter brings home every virus known to mankind from her school and then transfers it to my wife and I at home. When the school year starts, she starts getting sick and getting us sick.

So I built this UV system and haven't gotten sick once since I started using it two years ago. My daughter still gets sick from school though. Hospitals use these in patient and operating rooms and biolabs use them as well because they are so effective and leave no trace or residue. They don't generally sell them to consumers because they are dangerous. You can't stay in the room when its on as it can cause skin cancer and cause you to go blind in a big hurry. If you irradiate your kitchen, put the food away.. Caused a fresh banana to go brown in under 4 minutes from 8 feet away.

Total cost $120... And yes, that is an $8 Walmart ammo can and it will kill any coronavirus.

Can that make my avocados rippen faster? I have a hankering for guacamole but the avocados are hard as a rock. 4 minutes would work.

Yeah. I’m been leaning towards liking you but this pegged my douchbag-o-meter. I was referring to the 38 million Americans who live in poverty. As measured by the U.S. Census Bureau, so let’s not get into a pissing match about the definition of poverty. These are Americans who can’t afford to take off 2-weeks from work.

I know you can buy them on the internet.. I don't think they sell them in general stores though. At least I haven't seen any.

Might want to be careful on what you purchase on Amazon, make sure you get a well known brand name. I use Philips lamps.. Wouldn't surprise me if they're just selling a blue light that looks pretty because who can test it? Of course, its kind of hard to sue someone in China for a product that harms you as well.

Too bad these things don't ever mutate into something good. Like all of a sudden it changes next season and everyone's ages reverses for 10 years and they start pooping gold bricks. Stupid nature!

I'm a big believer in personal and financial responsibility. I wear shoes until you can see my toes sticking out of them.. I carry a $30 flip phone and drive a 20 year old truck that is half rusted out. My shirts have holes, my pants have stains, and I cut my own hair to within a 1/2 inch of my scalp.. When I walk into a hardware store, people look at me as though they think I'm either homeless or one step from being homeless.. Metaphorically, I'm the guy who walked into the bank and asked for his parking to be validated.. (if you're familiar with that one)...

I'm also a landlord and was a business owner with 200+ employees....

And I'm not alone as my wife walks around pretty much the same way.. more or less. No makeup, no useless jewelry, and cuts her own hair..

When the wheels to her 18 year old car LITERALLY fell off.. (ya.. it actually fell off).. we bought a new car for her.. and paid cash.

And by the way, when I got out of the Air Force, I had no money and had to accept a handout of food from a friend a couple times. I know what poverty feels like.

I have no problems with people who live in poverty for whatever unfortunate reasons life has thrown at them. I feel sorry for people who have not had the opportunity to rise up a bit and make their lives more comfortable. I could rant on about the pitiful state of our public educational system and its failures, or how racism and bigotry have persecuted so many people and put nearly insurmountable obstacles in their way... but that's another conversation..

The fact is, while so many people do live in poverty, I would question how many of them made bad choices. Which then begs the question: who should be responsible for those choices and lifestyles?

The problem has been going on for so long that one could even question who's at fault. When parents raise a child to be responsible and the child grows to adulthood and makes bad choices, its easy to pin the blame on the person making those bad choices. But how do we blame someone who was raised by irresponsible parents who taught them to make bad choices? Hence, the problem has gone from one of personal responsibility, to a systemic one.

It is nearly impossible to escape the values and perspectives one is raised with as a child. For these people raised in such a way, I feel very sorry for them.

Thing is, that probably accounts for less than half of those poverty numbers. While I don't think its wise to espouse the fallacy of small numbers, the fact is, I know several people who are on one form of welfare or another.. mostly food cards.. and not a single one of them has a responsible bone in their body. They buy food for their families on the taxpayer dime and walk around with gold jewelry and $500 cell phones... and what stuns me, they are proud and think they are being responsible with their lifestyle.

Sorry man, I only have so much compassion to give out, and I'd rather save it for the sick, the elderly, and those of random unfortunate circumstances who deserve compassion. The drug addicts, groupies, and lazy people are not my problem. If that's your definition of a douchbag, then I'm fine with it.

Here's a footnote.. (EmpireTecAndy will like this one) Go research and see what percentage of Asian American's are on welfare or living in poverty.. Their culture has a strong work ethic with a priority on education.. Now compare them to the average American under the same variables..

Like I said, I put a lot of value into personal responsibility. I don't blame McDonald's when I spill hot coffee on myself and I don't sue stores when I'm being irresponsible and slip in their parking lot. We American's have become lazy, entitled, and stupid.. and I don't want to pay for it.

I sincerely apologize if I strike you as a douchbag. This douchbag stocks hundreds of pounds of extra food that will probably never be needed, just so he can feed his neighbors if something bad ever happens.
