I don't personally have an API key, I just use the API key of the weather stations around me. I did create a wunderground login the other day, so I'll go poke around the website now. I've been using Blue Iris Software and Blue Iris Tools for a long time, I registered here 8 years ago. I've never had any gremlins or anything until just the other day. Still have no clue why it started working again.

FWIW, you can count on WU working about as well as molasses flows in Buffalo, NY in January.

My Tempest weather station is connected to WU and I've never had any issues with it.
Oh, my Ambient Weather WS-2902 has been reporting to it rock-steady for the last year but from '21 to about fall of '23 it was on again off again, sometimes offline for 1 or 2 days then back on for 5 or 6.

And prior that that my Davis Instruments Vantage Vue worked with WU great from 2012 to about 2015 which is when IBM acquired WU, then it was up/down again for a time.

I'm just saying that WU has a history of periodic issues and it's not my equipment or just me. There are many IPCT posts from users that have had issues with WU over the years. So I generallly suggest to people to hold on, it'll come back.....for a time.

If you read the writeup in Wikipedia about them you'll see a stormy (sorry) history of being handed off and sold numerous times which likely contributes to their reliability and consistency of operation.

Just wanted to share some amusement: Found out last month that the station ID I've been using for >1-year is a neighbor whom I'd never met.
My wife has been friends with his wife for around a year, and we finally had dinner at their place, and got talking shop (he's a code monkey) - started talking about my BI setup and wanting to get my own weather station and he's like "oh i have one of those, here this is my ID" and I was like /wut/

WU seems to have been down for a couple of days prior to about 14:00 MDT yesterday (04/10/2025). I noted this and did the usual things like checking connections, rebooting the host PC and swapping API keys. None of these had any effect since the problem was apparently on the WU side.

As of now, (04/11/2025, 08:00 MDT) it is working and BIT is uploading successfully.

04/11/25 Issues resolved for me.

I had to go to Wunderground and obtain in NEW API key. Might be short lived as my Weather station has been out of commission for well over a year. I'm fudging it for now.

Still dead in Europe (Spain).

I got tired of farting around with WU's API crap, so I went with Siteshoter to grab what I needed right off their website and pasted it onto a weather map. Here it is on one of my tablets. No inclement weather right now, so it's a pretty dead looking map. :p
