    Lorex to Dahua firmware upgrade

These are pre-pandemic era cameras. c. 2018-2019 My stumbling block right now is the missing commands.bat file which seems to create the files needed to upgrade

    Lorex to Dahua firmware upgrade

How old is the camera? Somewhere around 2-3 years ago Dahua started hard-coding the cameras to prevent people from buying cheaper Lorex and flashing with better Dahua firmware. That or they put in less RAM and cheaper processor that couldn't run the firmware.

Oh my! Lorex cams are banned from the USA and are a security breach ???

Lorex sold to a Taiwan company and the production all from Vietname now. There is no tax from VN to US. Those parts still made in China, just assemble in VN.

Need Your Help to Decide between T54IR-ZE and Color4K-T and How to Install It

Thanks guys, this is helpful. So seems like the blue/red light doesnt add any real value to the classic upgraded T54IR-ZE S3 1) Can either the T54IR-ZE S3 or the Colour4K-T be operated via wifi with an app? Like Lorex cameras? Or is it a requirement to hard wire them? I'm wondering for ease of...

    Lorex to Dahua firmware upgrade

Hate to dig up an old subject but I am in need of upgrading my Lorex LN8005-C cameras to Dahua firmware. The Lorex versions are not very good and ONVIF functionality is hit and mostly miss. I am following this thread but am missing some critical detail. Specifically, what is the commands.bat...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

My only concern is the lack of hood. I believe the hood acts as a drip-edge like on house roofs. The water on the top of the camera will go on the hood will not go onto the lens. But on a turret, the water from the top of the camera slide down onto the lens. If I do BI/PC, will my computer...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

If you are like most here, they will make for good paper weights when you replace them with better lower MP cameras LOL :lmao: My neighbor with his 4K Lorex 8-pack from Costco has 6 of those cameras now laying around in the garage LOL, all replaced with 2MP and 4MP cameras. Keep in mind all...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

I cant find a bullet version. Are my lorex cameras good for anything? Keeping in mind they cost $80 compared to $160 Empire Tech.

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

So, I am re-shopping for cameras now. I see that Dahua also offers cameras that are in the RED on the ratio chart. Is that also purely marketing even though that are from a brand that people on IPCAMTALK like?

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

The NVR is separate than BI, so if you give the NVR internet access, you can use their app. The PTZ movement should still work. Yes Dahua and Empiretech will work with Lorex NVRs as they are all made by Dahua. Many people here have replaced Lorex cameras with empiretech cameras and used the...

Both Empire Tech and Dahua will work with Lorex NVR?

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

Are PTZ settings considered "camera settings"? Regardless, I'd still be able to access my NVR via the Lorex App, whether mobile or on PC, right?

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

The NVR and my PC will all be on my home network. So I should be able to access the NVR through my PC and the Blue Iris program, right?

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

No, your MP/sensor is a bad combo. If night quality is a concern, then it is imperative that cameras be on the ideal MP/sensor ratio, or anything in green: A varifocal on a less than ideal MP/sensor ratio like 8MP on a 1/2.8" sensor will do even worse as you optically zoom in. That image...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

Yes, I as many here have learned that one camera cannot be the be all, see all! So we try to share our knowledge so that others don't wastefully spend money on cameras that are not going to cut it. The cameras I linked in the chose focal length over MP thread will work with Lorex as Lorex was...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

The lorex camera you linked that I own, I paid $81. Their “sale” price. So my sensor/screen combo is not necessarily bad, it’s the zoom/focal length that determines how usable it can be for whatever situation? Or the 8MP - 1/2.8” is still bad. Should be 2MP - 1/2.8”? Which 2MP camera captured...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

I have only just started to install, nothing is up and running. I still have the packaging so I may return it and “buy twice cry once” I re-read your write up. I think this is the thing that us noobs dont understand at first: “One camera cannot be the be all, see all. Each one is selected for...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

As someone says here, buy once, cry once. I have BOXES of cameras I bought trying to go on the cheap and they just didn't cut it. I would be better off having not spent that money and bought better cameras. The cameras you are looking about $150 on Amazon or Lorex website. You can get a...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

Thank you that is a long read, I will read it later tonight. Regarding the 2 pictures posted above, you show a 8MP picture on a 2MP sensor (what I have) and a 8MP picture on a 8MP sensor. I assume that 8MP sensor is way out of my price range? Do you have an example of a 2MP picture on a 2MP sensor?

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

So you believe all the marketing hype LOL. Of course they are going to tell you that. And this is with a static image with the shutter slowed down to allow in all the light, but then motion will be a complete blur. And no, downrezing will not work because it still uses the 8MP "screen" that...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

So, is the hood useless? I have used Lorex in the past and it seemed easy enough for a DIYer. I’d like the highest resolution possible at a consumer level price. The description of those cameras say they “… use an 8MP image sensor that delivers exceptionally detailed 4K Ultra HD resolution...

Bullet vs Turret in the rain

Either will be fine. Do you need a Lorex camera? Do you need 4K? Those cameras are on a sensor meant for 2MP, not 8MP.

    2 camera PTZ solar system

Hey guys and gal, I am looking for a 2 camera system for another person. However this person is looking for components that I am not as familiar with which is which I needed/hoped for recommendations. I spoke to the guy from Empiretech (who is great btw if you've never talked to before)...

ONVIF rule criteria for triggering events in BI

Would you be so kind as to post your setup? I'm running the Lorex 2K video doorbell (same thing as the AD410) and I'd like it to record on human detection (rather than on everything, including moving branches, as it does now). I'm unfamiliar with ONVIF events in BI, at least setting them up as a...

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Perhaps someone with more experience with the Lorex app can chime in, or with the mobile Dahua App. A few notes, iirc Lorex App should basically be the Dahua OEM version with Lorex branding .. the current app on your mobile may also work on Dahua OEM NVRs, I would expect there to be some...

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

I already have a Lorex NVR at another property and would prefer to use the Lorex App, if possible. Just comfortable with what I know, not opposed to using an OEM Dahua NVR if that ends up being the solution.

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Hi @Usafexplorer "was told not all Lorex NVR's play nice" Lorex, not all of their NVRs are Dahua OEM iirc, and even if they are Dahua OEM : Both Dahua and Hikvision have multiple levels of features and differentiations in their NVRs line up. As Lorex OEMs Dahua the most, there will at least...

Lorex NVR to fit EmpireTech PTZ

Recently ordered a EmpireTech PTZ2M-4X 1/2.8" CMOS 2MP 4x Starlight 2.8mm–12mm Vari-focal PTZ Camera. I have used other Dahua branded cameras successfully with a Lorex NVR but was told not all Lorex NVR's play nice. Anyone have any suggestions was Lorex NVR will work with these cameras? I...

    Lorex security system issues

I have the nvr hooked up to a tv. I got water into one of the camera connections so I put a new end on the cat 5 cable.
