    Zerotier help needed

You may also try Tailscale. I use both but find it flawless. I have one account that I monitor where Zerotier frequently fails to connect where Tailscale never fails. Setup is a little easier and the devices do not need to be authorized. It provides an IP for each device that you set it up on...

TeamViewer, ZeroTier and TailScale - Remote Connection To BI Server

I have Zerotier and Tailscale loaded upon boot on several PCs with no conflict. From time to time one will temporarily not want to play right so the other provides backup. No problems using RealVNC/TightVNC or Splashtop either. Zerotier has given more temporary problems for me.

Host your own VPN service on or behind your router/firewall. (OpenVPN, WireGuard, Tailscale, IPSec, etc.)

...you an email to verify that you are on a trusted device. But I never get that email. Have yet to reconcile that issue. That brings me to TailScale as another option to log in to that pesky BI server when ZeroTier won't do it. But can you run both at the same time? Any thoughts on this...

why u no port forwarding u stupid router...

...your ISP uses CGNAT then you don’t get an IPv4 IP that you can use to port forward so you have 3 main options, first is to ask the ISP to move you, second is to use either Zerotier or Tailscale ( which is what I personally use, the last is to setup a VPN so that you can VPN into your home...

why u no port forwarding u stupid router...

You may be behind the ISP's CGNAT or they may be blocking certain ports. Alternatively, you can probably use Tailscale or Zerotier.

Recommendation for a cheapish 4g modem router with inbuilt VPN.

Thanks very much for your detailed reply. I think your tailscale suggestion is the way forward. I'm learning all about it at the moment and will give it a go. I have a computer setup with BI ready to go. I just need to get the remote access working and I'm happy. Such a massive learning curve...

looking for options for enabling remote access for CGNAT fiber connection

ZeroTier has worked very well for me. I’m personally not familiar with Tailscale, since my ZT setup has worked so well, but I believe that they are similar upon function. ZT allows me to use windows Remote Desktop. The combination has worked very well.

BI via tailscale with weird network setup

Tailscale should be creating a virtual network adapter on your BI PC. If you look at the status of that network adapter, you can see what IP is assigned to your BI PC, and connect to that from your other tailscale clients. If it doesn't work then either you haven't set up tailscale properly...
