    Dahua time sync issue

I bought mine from Andy. I offset it from Pacific Time (UTC -8:00) to Mountain Time to keep the timestamp correct. IPC-HDW2231R-ZS 2.800.0000008.0.R, Build Date: 2019-06-19

LPR in a state with no front plates

If you can use OpenALPR aka Watchman, it would attempt to read the plate in every frame that it can, then report the most confident reading from the group. It would work well in your location if you deem it worth $5/month and some CPU power. The 49225xa is an option, I set up a buddy with LPR...

Oh gotcha, I meant my own cam. It'll comply for a while, then offset itself by an hour.

I have a 2231 that likes to offset itself an hour. I finally sad "you win" and changed its time zone.

    Dahua 4K PTZ DH-SD8A820WA-HNF

Depth of field will go up as you reduce the aperture, so if you're in the mood for experimentation, try taking the aperture down to like 30% open for the daytime mode. If it were me, I would definitely max out the bitrate.

(SOLVED) Blue iris running on single E5-2630 v3 Ideas

I agree with @pmcross that the Xeon would be easily able to handle your load and run circles around an i3 despite the lack of QuickSync, if it came down to it. 4x the cores/threads and a quad-channel memory controller, hands-down win. I've done experiments where I disable QuickSync on my Core...

Review Dahua OEM SD22204UE-GN by EmpireTech Andy

That is how they come, and you could get a PFA137 junction box as shown in Post #2 if it suits your purpose. That's what I bought to go with mine.

Review Dahua OEM SD22204UE-GN by EmpireTech Andy

It doesn't have auto-tracking in the firmware. I do have Blue Iris use other cameras to turn the PTZ to the desired direction, and then the PTZ's onboard "idle motion" setting will turn it back to its primary direction after a minute, unless the other cameras continue to send alerts.

    Installed a ColorVu turret

Above: Dahua 2MP starlight miniPTZ locked to 1/3-second shutter, with the Gain set to auto, 0 to 100 range. If I force 100 Gain (100 minimum, 100 maximum), I get a pure white scene. Even 50 gain is way too much for the 1/3s shutter speed, the entire center of the scene is like looking at the...

    Installed a ColorVu turret

I can either have the ColorVu continue to run its lights, which compensates for the backlighting of the scene, or turn the ColorVu's lights off, depending which one is relevant to your own scene. Let me know if you have a preference.

    Installed a ColorVu turret

I can do that for you tonight. There is a Dahua 2MP low-light mini-PTZ camera next to the Colorvu, it will work for your test.

Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus

Remind me, is your setup based on a NVR or Blue Iris? On the PTZ, each of its own Presets will contain IVS rules specific to that Preset / scene. If your setup has other cameras calling the PTZ to specific presets using a Blue Iris Alert > Action > On Alert item, and the PTZ stays where it...

    Dahua IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED review

It also is useful if the scene is backlit. Also, the LEDs can put out enough light that a lot of people would mistake it for a light fixture. Similar Hikvision Colorvu below. Looking at it from the staircase, I'd probably think it's a light fixture if I didn't know white-LED cameras Are A...

Review Dahua OEM SD22204UE-GN by EmpireTech Andy

If your objective is to see movement, play with the Backlight Compensation options. They can brighten up the dark areas. You'll pay for it with less identifiable detail. The other tip is to change the equation by adding more light, either infrared or visible light. A cheap motion-sensing LED...

Review Dahua OEM SD22204UE-GN by EmpireTech Andy

On mine, I wavered between Auto exposure and Shutter Priority mode. It currently looks out on a fairly-low-light scene from a 3rd-floor eave, but Blue Iris will send it to a brighter scene (3rd-floor porch) if other cameras detect motion there. In the overview scene, its job is just to track...

Capture plates between these two poles?

I think you have to order the version you want. I emailed their sales@ email address and requested 4 x spot optics, and they set mine up that way. I'm not sure what the stock setup would be if you did not specify.

Powered by DarkFighter 8MP or ColourVu 4MP

Would you be able to install a motion-activated floodlight near the camera to have the desired effect? I have a 5442 LED and a Colorvu, they're both all right, especially if you do some fine-tuning and avoid the human desire for a candy-coated ultra-bright scene where individual frames are a...

If yours is not on a PoE+ switch, that could be a logical explanation for the crashing. I bought a Rosewill PoE+ injector to go with mine, since my switches are not PoE+ by nature.

Dahua playback question: can the cam play back from NAS?

This one's a Synology DS120j: DS120j | Synology Inc. Site X would have six cams, the NAS and a WiFi router, and the landlord would ideally be able to park within WiFi range and check footage to see who's been creating that mess by the dumpster, etc. My objective was to set up Dahua SmartPSS...

After 8 years BI up for a new HW setup. Pls Advice

That's in line with what I see on our 7th-gen and 8th-gen Optiplexes at work. I had a rack of them, maybe two dozen, pulling 380 watts at the master power outlet. Granted, they were idling, not running BI :) If you can find one off-lease with a SSD and give it one high-capacity hard drive...

Choosing PC Case for Multiple HDD ?

Its load when recording (1670MP/sec) is drifting between 35% and 42%. The real test is playback WHILE continuing to record. 1x forward playback of six cameras (while also recording all of them) will immediately take the CPU usage up to about 70%-75%. If I let playback continue, this will...

Choosing PC Case for Multiple HDD ?

If I bought the Rosewill myself, I would be firmly bolting it to something so an intruder would have to work a bit to take it. Big, heavy and ugly works for me. I'd also splurge on some premium low-noise 120mm fans for it. I do have a i9-9900K with a respectable quad-heatpipe heatsink...

    IVS never alerting

Excellent! :) For the snapshots, there's a semi-related setting up in Camera > Video you could look at: You might also try formatting the card so it has all its space available, plus that will reboot the camera, and then just skim the prior settings once more to make sure all of the layers...

    IVS never alerting

Interesting. What happens if you try an intrusion-detection box in place of a tripwire style? I also forgot to ask one other detail, which is to check if there's a Smart Plan turned on. You know if IVS is doing its IVS thing because there will be outlines around candidate targets like a...

    IVS never alerting

Ok here is a quick set of things to check. I'm guessing one of the layers of scheduling is disarmed, basically. 1. confirm the cam's seeing your card: 2. make sure the "Local" path (your card) is selected: 3: make sure your Event > Video Detection > Motion Detection master toggle is...

    IVS never alerting

A couple questions: 1. I assume you have a microSD card for it to record to, since you don't have an NVR. Correct me if I'm wrong on that 2. If you're able to observe the camera's Web UI , does your tripwire flash red to show that it triggered when you cross it?
