Drives overallocated even after rebuilding DB
I've had the same issue a few times in the past 6 months or so. Delete the DB folder, lose all the alerts, and it will work for a while until the problem returns. I keep updating the version, and deleting the DB. It has been stable for the past month or so, so there's hope. -

Fire OS is always a mystery to me. Luckily after much effort I can usually locate the icon for the Silk browser to get the UI3 to open. The Fire OS is not very intuitive. -

My AMZN tablet occasionally drops the UI3 connection and then goes to sleep, or else goes to sleep and then drops the UI3.. What are you running for a keep-alive program? -

My old 900nm IR helped a bit to illuminate plates for the 5241z12, but I recently opted for an 850nm to get cleaner images, albeit at Axton prices. -

Doesn't the viewer allow for editing of a plate? Maybe pick a commonly-seen plate and edit just the one occurrence. Once the target plate is in the database then can it be tagged for special alerts? -

Thanks for the link. The Linovision splitter should work well, as one port allows for 8W and the other for 16W. The IR emitter is rated at 11W. I do have a 120V AC outlet not too far from where the camera and old emitter are under the eaves, so your PoE injector would work okay if it were... -

Sorry I don't follow the suggestion on going premium, CCTVCam. Is the concern that a splitter would be used? Or the model of splitter? I hope the wattage will be okay, as I have a PTZ camera drawing 12.5 to 16W on another port. -

I am thinking of getting this Axton model 11e using 10 degrees for 540 feet, which uses PoE, but am wondering if an AC adapter can be used in lieu of getting a splitter for PoE? My camera now draws less than 3W, so this 11W IR emitter should be okay with my Ubiquiti PoE port... -

You have a great view of the street. I would suggest zooming as much as possible so as to still capture both lanes. Go out to 200-250 feet, and don't worry about the gutters. You just need the plates, and the two plates ought not be more than 15' apart from each other. -

97JeepXJ, did you integrate the pulse mode with your Z12? The 850nm light reaching 540 feet, and ideally the camera shutter would allow a quick pulse from a trigger event, so as to not disturb the neighbors, seeing a big red eye all the time. -

repair/regenerate database
So the DB was repaired yesterday, and today there's no clips or alerts listed. I just now reverted back to version 5.6.5.9, and will try again at repair. -

Not sure why, but the alerts and clips disappeared again and had to be restored by repairing the database. There was no update since 5.6.6.1, or any changes, so it's a mystery why the database gets lost.
