bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Off subject apologies. It's 22 that goes through Detroit. We were heading east and the road was blocked along the lake just short of the town. Had to backtrack east to hook the shortest road south to Lebanon, and ran into yet again another road closure with detour before getting down to Hwy...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I haven't noticed a lot of EV hating on this thread, just resentment over how they're being forced on society, and concerns over them being practical in some common situations. I coincidentally ran across an article today, no need to quote it, pointing out how people who live in apartments and...

    Drone detection software

Interesting question! For object detection, will we see human, vehicle, drone, and hopefully animal, too? Will we be buying more cameras to point at the sky?

Dahua NVR, DMSS and P2P - How are they connected?

I don't want to cross the line of nosiness, but would you care to make a statement about any suicidal tendencies? Remember the AI guy just last week....

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

I tried to ask the Internet what was the lowest temp for a heat pump to work. It felt like looking for political opinions, with the answers ranging from +30F to under -30F. Whatever the case, if despite my skepticism, the Tesla heat pump works efficiently down to at least -20F, that is...

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T has anyone figure out API to operate the LED?

Ideas: 1. Do you have the username and password in the API command? 2. Is the camera schedule set correctly for when you want the T180 in night mode? 3. Are you using On Alert and On Reset on the initiating camera's BI Trigger tab? 4. Is the BI profile enabled on the Action Set tab? 5. Is the...

Dahua NVR, DMSS and P2P - How are they connected?

Good detective work. I never thought about it this way, that the NVR can send out anything it wants unless there's a firewall that explicitly stops it. It's only accepting incoming traffic that can be a hassle.

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

Without specifying the outside temp this has to be a meaningless statement. If it's below zero I'd expect the heat pump to be useless, even if the battery still has some juice in it. I couldn't find any real specs, but for the opposing view I found this on X: "The heat pump system actually has...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

OK. I'll throw out my opinion. I think a lot of people will be unwilling to go over a mountain pass in the winter with an EV. All it takes is a common road blockage from gridlock, disabled vehicle, or accident, and you can be stuck in below freezing weather without a heater after the battery...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

^^^^^ Pretty balanced presentation. One bone I'll pick is he said that it was the automakers who came up with the "zero emission vehicle" propaganda. I think the lefty politicians were at least as, if not more responsible for this nifty sounding propaganda phrase. Pretty much from day one...

Empiretech camera initialized in config tool but can't be found in Blue Iris

Are the cameras on the same subnet as the BI machine? (subnet in this case=1st 9 digits of IP address). Config Tool will find the cameras on any subnet. BI will find them only on the windows machine subnet. (If you're using dual NIC on the BI machine, it's not as simple and I'm unable to help).

    OMG Thermal!

I don't have BI going through the NVR. BI connects to each camera via ONVIF. BI and NVR don't interfere with each other at all, they are totally independent. I'm probably squeezing the heck out of the network.

    OMG Thermal!

Problem solved. The short version: User error. Thanks bigred for encouraging me to look in the mirror for the cause. In the Storage menu, IVS recording wasn't enabled. The excuses version: (1) This is the first time I can remember that IVS wasn't enabled in the storage menu by default when I...

    Dahua Camera issue

I can't guarantee my info is correct. It's from my own experience having run 4431R-Zs in the past. The HFW-4431R-Z is a chinese market camera. Starting a bunch of years ago, Dahua NVRs began refusing to work with chinese market cameras. Since your new NVR is recent, it should refuse to work...

The World Order Is Dangerously In Flux

Depends how you define lost and succeed. In the list of 8 countries, the US succeeded in letting the neocons and warmongers play their games with other peoples' lives, and strengthened the MIC. How has the USA succeeded in Ukraine? So far, by overthrowing the government, enriching the MIC...

Numerous rain alerts... any fix for it?

I have two observations to offer. 1. For no good reason that I can think of, BI enables dumb motion detection on the camera. If you shut it off on the camera GUI, BI will turn it right back on. To get rid of this nuisance, in the camera's GUI, totally wipe out the motion detection coverage...

    OMG Thermal!

I have an SD card and events are recorded on it. I made a change in the NVR config that may solve the problem. I have to wait for some animals to walk through to see the result.

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T has anyone figure out API to operate the LED?

Try this: http://192.168.nnn.nnn/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=getConfig&name=Lighting_V2 The middle of the three array indices is the profile (day, night, general, etc.)

    IR Illuminator or Camera Upgrade

I've tried a number of IR illuminators. They all have center hotspots, some better than others, but always better than the built in IR with my cameras. The best setup I have is two 4-watters that are spread out some to better cover the camera's FOV and distribute the hotspots.

How to switch on the light of this camera IPC-Color4K-T180

This doesn't help you with DMSS, but if you're into this sort of thing the light can be switched on and off with an API call.
