Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

Sorry, I've never used the skybell firsthand, so i can't say which is better. It does not support ONVIF or RTSP which was a must for me, so I did not consider it.

Weird. I'll see if I can find another setting which was changed.

Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

2 way audio in BI worked for me out of the box. I'm using the following settings:

Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

I first tested it on the bench with a power supply and it powered up either way! Sorry, I don't remember how it's wired at the door.

Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

I don't use a chime, but from what I've read from others, adjusting the 3rd party chime settings in the IMOU app may fix this issue

Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

I do currently have this working. When the button on the DB11 is pushed, it will send audio notification to Echo units in the house, and an animated gif notification to our phones via pushover. However, this is all done through customizations and sent to openHAB for processing and integration...

    Is this Peak IP Camera?

Yes, definitely an intriguing question. I think we may have reached a plateau, but definitely not peak. Now that the "low hanging fruit" improvements have been made over the last few years, we will probably move into a phase of heavy refinement. Similar to how phones have been using software...

    Review-Dahua DB-11 Video Door Bell

I've spend a lot of time searching. You can see my direct experience and updates on the DB11 here Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?. For residential, DB11 or HSDB2A seem to be the top non-cloud based choices for now. However, that's not saying much. I'd love to see a side by...

    Does BI support Pushover notification?

BI doesn't support pushover natively, but you can send pushover notifications by email as mentioned above. If you want something more advanced, you can run openHAB and even have alerts with animated gifs of clips sent via pushover

HomeSeer for Pi3 is free. Something to consider

Seconded for the openHAB recommendation. Been using it with blueiris for years and it runs great! I've heard nice things about homeseer as well, but haven't had a chance to play with it. This is an attractive opportunity to try it out. Thanks for the heads up!

    Wyze Pan & Tilt

Ah, got it. Thanks for clarifying! It's ok, PTZ isn't a big deal for my specific application, would just be a nice bonus. Either way, these are nice little devices for the price.

    Wyze Pan & Tilt

Wow. How did you get motor control to work? I tried the settings you used, but port 443 on the wyze cam isn't open, so it doesn't respond to those commands, even through curl or browser. Are you using the official beta firmware or the custom DaFang hacks firmware?

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

New updated firmware (RC1) just released for V2 and Pan cams. RTSP firmware 4.19.4.48 - feedback so far I haven't tested yet as the 2nd firmware (beta 2) has been stable.

Dahua DB-11 DoorBell and DSC 1832 Powerseries Alarm Integration

I was finally able to find the time to sit down and get this sorted it with a different way. I only have a POE run to my doorbell and can't easily run more wires, so options were limited in my environment. Expanding on xtian's original idea, I installed a relay triggered by the doorbell button...

    Dahua DB-11 setup trouble

It may be because of the mismatched serial numbers. Try the following: "The recommended install method doesn't work because the serial numbers are mismatched. Someone at the factory mixed up all the labels. In the imou app, choose 'enter serial number manually' and use the serial number...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

At the moment, PTZ does not work in BI with the pan cams. They use RSTP protocol which does not support camera movement.

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

I don't see where they mention it's out of beta? Either way, new firmware released last week to address RTSP instability. Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)

Dahua DB-11 DoorBell and DSC 1832 Powerseries Alarm Integration

nice! thanks for the follow up. So you didn't even have to hack the button at all? Even better if that's the case! Either way, thanks for thinking of me, but I'm afraid I can't use this method as I don't have wires running from the doorbell to the DSC panel. I've only got POE to the network...

New official RTSP support for Wyzecams

Yes, some details over here. Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris? I am definitely seeing lots of dropped connections, but hey, it works. Slightly better than the hacked firmware for sure. Nice that they're trying.

Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

Yeah, that HFW1831C looks really good too for doorway. As for automations, there's a ton of cool stuff you can do with hubs and blueiris integrated together. I use openHAB to tie in my automation hub (vera) and blueiris. For instance, when someone triggers the camera, I convert the capture...

Dahua DB-11 DoorBell and DSC 1832 Powerseries Alarm Integration

@xtian were you able to successfully modify the DB11 push button? I'm planning to use a modified wireless DSC sensor as the zone trigger.

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

Just tried this. Works slightly better than custom firmware (No strange colors, decent image quality, wifi isn't weaker), but for some reason there are frequent connectivity drops right now. Not quite stable just yet. Similar to what other people are describing here: Having trouble with RTSP...

Possible to flush Q-see QCN7001B cameras with Dahua firmware?

glad it helped. BTW, I believe these cameras do have WDR with qsee firmware. If not, it's worth checking the qsee site for FW updates. I used to own some and I believe this option was available. Yeah, they were great for the price at the time!

Possible to flush Q-see QCN7001B cameras with Dahua firmware?

Qsee normally opens http on port 85. You can try http://cameraip:85 in your browser. I've never had static IP problems with qsee cameras. However, I don't recommend going with dahua fw as there's a good chance it'll brick the camera.

Direct-to-Drive enabled but still have overlay

I can verify the overlay is still there on recorded videos. I'm using custom macros to display home automation status (i.e. door open, etc) The odd thing is when watching recorded content, the timestamp overlay is correct, but all my other macros are showing information which is only accurate...

Dahua DB-11 DoorBell and DSC 1832 Powerseries Alarm Integration

Oops! Yes, I've just realized I made a critical mistake when checking the specs. I completely forgot the PC1832 amperage rating of .7A@12V is shared on the entire rail with all sensors. This means it definitely won't be enough for a DB11. Apologies for the bad advice. The ELK-930 looks like a...

need monitored home security using zwave

It's best to get a DSC alarm panel and bridge it to the vera with an Envisalink EVL4. This way, you will rely on the alarm panel for security but you can also use the sensors to trigger your vera for automation. Geoarm and I believe AlarmRelay will support DSC panels since they are the standard...

Dahua DB-11 DoorBell and DSC 1832 Powerseries Alarm Integration

Definitely interested in this project! Let me know if you can mod the push button. I would want to run the exact same setup. As far as power goes, the pleasant surprise I found with the DB11 was that it supports DC input out of the box. This means you should be able to drive it off the 12V rail...
