Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

I updated to Firmware version 4.28.4.40 on my Wyze cam v2 and it's been rock solid in Blue Iris. So far so good.

Just purchased 2 Wyze v2 and got them set up quite easily in Blue Iris. So far so good. I'm now considering getting at least 1 of the Pan Cam's and was wondering if anyone has one working with BI and if you are able to use the PTZ functions within BI.

At the moment, PTZ does not work in BI with the pan cams. They use RSTP protocol which does not support camera movement.

I'm seeing quite a lot of dropped frames with the Wyze V2 using rtsp. Pretty much every 10 seconds it will skip an entire second of video.

This doesn't happen with the video via the app so I'm guessing the rtsp is still very much beta buggy.

I've now upgraded the firmware to the beta V2 - 4.28.4.40 and its significantly better. No more dropped frames and stable so far !

Got mine to work with BI using the latest beta FW.

Anyone have some idea on how to mount it outdoors? I know it includes a magnet, but not sure if strong enough for outdoor under the roof?

You can see the rtsp address including the user/pass as part of the URL in the Wyze phone app in Camera Settings->Advanced Settings->RTSP

e.g. rtsp://youruser:yourpassword:192.168.1.1/live

How do I get my wyze pan to work in blue iris? Seems I can’t pan in blue iris at all. Any ideas?

Where did you download this new firmware? I am still on 4.19.4.48 and it loses connection daily.

My issue with the Wyze camera and just randomly dropping out of BI I believe had to do with my Asus router. I stumbled upon a fix on the Wyze website, and since then it's been perfect. It has to do with "airtime fairness". Those of you with an Asus router that are having issues may want to check this out. It worked (so far) for me.
