Cube Cameras not seen by Hikvision NVR

I just received a DS-2CD2432F-IW cube camera. I plugged it into my Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/8P NVR. After many minutes, nothing. NVR software version is 3.0.10 build 141125. I have 3 Hikvision bullets and 1 Hikvison EXIR Turret. All pop up after a minute or two. Looking at the manual it says I...

Norton says SADP is unsafe and quaranitines the file.

Thanks! I disabled Norton and got SADP installed and it runs. I'll keep Eset in mind when my Norton subscription runs out.

Norton says SADP is unsafe and quaranitines the file.

I had to turn off Norton Auto Protect/Sonar Protection to install I have to believe SADP is safe, so many people are using it. I got the download from Hikvision.

Not a US (WR) camera as advertised. Got CCCH and no offer to replace.

I'll keep it and not buy cameras from them anymore. I prefer US so I don't have to deal with changing Chinese back to English should I ever need to upgrade the firmware. I will say I am happy with the Wrightwood IR illuminators. Not cheap, but they do light up the night! So far reliable, unlike...

I'm sure I bookmrked this camera link a few days ago. But going back to page 1 the link is for a camera that is $10 more. Not sure what is different between the 2. I would like auto-tracking...

Not a US (WR) camera as advertised. Got CCCH and no offer to replace.

I purchased a 2.8mm 3MP turret camera from Nelly's Wrightwood. I paid extra because I didn't want to deal with the camera reverting to Chinese. Didn't realize this immediately, but some time later I logged into the camera and the serial number is ...CCCH.... I contacted Nelly's Wrightwood, they...

Did I damage my NVR? Keeps resetting.

Has worked fine for many many months. Today I needed to enlarge a hole through the wall where the camera CAT cables pass through. The drill bit caught one of the cables. I see exposed wires on the cable. Did not investigate further to see if there are shorts. Image from that camera still...

    Camera password change required?

Used the password reset tool, and was able to get into the cameras with admin, 12345. Really wasn't that hard. Thanks ipcamtalk. https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/2920-Hikvision-camera-admin-password-reset-tool

    Camera password change required?

Did not work on either camera. :( Still wondering if I got locked out because I checked the box "do not ask again". I'm reading up on the password reset tool. Hopefully that will work without bricking the camera.

    Camera password change required?

When I log into my cameras behind my NVR I get a message that states "You are required to change the default password immediately". Can I ignore this? I prefer to keep admin, 12345 as the cameras are safe behind my Hikvision NVR, right? Can I check "Do not show again" without issue? The reason...

Turn off IR when using DS-7608NI-E2/8P?

I have the older (?) DS-7600NI-SE/8P NVR. I instructed my friend to get this model, but all that came up was the 4 POE model. At least it was the SE model. When he ordered it the seller said they were substituting the newer/better DS-7608NI-E2/8P. I believe I read that this DVR has less (no)...

HOw to turn off IR without changing camera to day mode

Same camera, about 5 weeks later. I recommended Hikvision to a friend. He just got his system and loves it. I mentioned turning off IR and using an external IR unit. In preparation, I logged into one of my cameras to refresh my memory on turning off IR (I also made a cheat sheet with screen...

Thanks Fenderman, I stumbled upon it by myself, which is rare for me :) . But as they say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

HOw to turn off IR without changing camera to day mode

Nothing like posting a question, only to figure out the answer on my own... I was looking in the Advanced Configuration, Image. After a lot of menu clicking I found what I was looking for under Advanced Configuration. System, Service tab. There I found the heading "Hardware" with a check box...

HOw to turn off IR without changing camera to day mode

I've read that the IR LEDs can be turned off. But I can't figure out how to do it. I log into my Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/8P NVR. Then I go to Configuration, Camera Management, IP Camera. My cameras are three DS-2CD2032-I Bullets and one DS-2CD2332-I 2.8mm Outdoor Turret I log into the camera...

    Detached garage

Hi Fenderman. Thanks for the reply. Let me see if I understand: Starting at NVR: NVR via cat5e to remote location (front porch). POE switch at front porch. Plug 2 or more cameras into switch. At NVR manually enter each camera's IP address. My NVR is POE, Do I need to add a filter of some kind...

    Detached garage

I may not be understanding this correctly. Are you saying one cat5/5e/6 cable can carry signals from multiple cameras? I have been trying to figure out how to run another camera to my front porch without opening multiple locations in my walls. I currently have one cat5e along with a RG6 coax...

    Rename camera in Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/P

For anyone else as dense as me... Log in with your password, Go to Camera, then On Screen Display. The second item down from the top is camera name.

    Rename camera in Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/P

Found it under On Screen Display. I would think that "cameras" which lists all the parameters would allow one to edit the name, but alas it does not.Anyway found it, but still would like to know if Blue Iris is more intuitive.
