Hi, I have a 2mp Dahua PTZ, that has been brilliant since 2019.
However, recently, the past 2 or so months I have noticed a strange constant pixelation / noise at the bottom of the screen. It is there constantly. Whether there is movement in the scene or a still scene, change of light, shadows...
Thanks very helpful, with the IPs all having AI on the cams I don't think I will need to use the NVRs AI, and as shown, enabling the AI on the -I model NVR's IP channels cuts the bandwidth down considerably. The 4kS2E will probably be fine for my current requirements.
and yes the pro series NVR has 16 PoE and the WizMind NVR has 8 PoE... I am running the IPs through a PoE switch so no need for any NVR PoE ports, so that number is irrelevant.
I am running a hybrid system of 16 cams (11 WizMind IP cams and 5 HDCVI cams) currently all connected to a XVR (DH-XVR5216-4KL-I2)
The XVR gives the HDCVI cams WizSense AI but I cannot recored on SMD for the IPs or get push notifications for any AI alerts through the XVR.
Only solution is to...
Thank you for your prompt reply.
This site is my trusted source for security camera information, I don't look else where for reviews, except on youtube to see playback footage of certain models if available (some members have youtube channels too that I subscribe to).
No point having a nice...
Thank you, appreciate the feedback. I just have two other questions...
On the latest spec sheet for these models;
The 5241 has a minimum illumination rating of:
0.002 lux@F1.5 (Color, 30 IRE)
0.0002 lux@F1.5 (B/W, 30 IRE)
0 lux (Illuminator on)
The 5442 has a minimum illumination rating of...
I am looking at replacing one of my older 2mp cameras that face the street with either the 4mp HFW5442E-ZE (IPC-HFW5442E-ZE) or the 2mp HFW5241E-ZE (IPC-HFW5241E-ZE) - both with WizMind AI
Between these two camera, which one performs better in low light / at night, and produces a better quality...
Thanks for your response and insight Bickford. Makes sense and sounds like it is definitely not worth such a premium price to use on a Dahua system.
My main reason for wanting Axis was purely for ascetics. I will reconsider the Dahua dome options.
Thanks Bigred, main reason I want to get the Axis cams is that I want to mount them inside and they don't need a junction box if you mount them on a concrete ceiling or brick wall. Network cable plugs in nicely into the camera inside at the back with Axis. The Dahua domes on the other hand will...
Hi, I have a Dahua XVR and Dahua cams both IP and HDCVI.
I am looking at some Axis IP domes on the remaining slots I have available on the system.
Does anyone know exactly how much functionality will be lost on the Axis cameras going through the Dahua XVR? Is it still worth it?
Would I still...
Hi, I see Dahua have released a new update of SmartPSS for MacOS Catalina dated 14 April 2020.
Has anyone updated and tried this version yet?
Is it stable? The December release was not and was very resource heavy.
The new release is available here...
I am sure this topic has been discussed a few times here, but would like to know what most think the best practise is for syncing Dahua IP cameras' time with a Dahua NVR/XVR's time?
Should the NVR/XVR be set to sync with an NTP and each IP camera also set to sync with an NTP in the camera's own...
For power, just to power the PTZ consider also a PoE+ injector as an option if he doesn't have an AC outlet in the barn. I run my PTZ on a PoE+ injector and it seems to work fine, I don't see any draw backs and made installation easy without needing to upgrade my Switches to PoE+ switches just...
