BlueIris decides to delete all of my videos (5.8.0.7, PSA)?

The clip deletion has hit a few of us. In my case it started on 5.8.0.4 along side the memory leak, kept having issues through 5.8.0.8 and I didn't catch it till I was looking for specific footage. Reverting to last stable 5.7.9.12 and 5.8.0.2 fixed the issue till Ken replied to my email and...

    Looking for a better camera

I have an old 3mp poe dome cam mounted on a 4 foot tall block wall to monitor the alley behind my house due to some dumping issues. The dome is old and weather faded due to the sun pointing at it half the day. I had been thinking of getting a bullet cam with the theory that the bit extending...

    Remote Cameras On Starlink

There are no ports open on the Starlink side. The device on the Starlink side initiates the connection to a host on a more normal connection that has ports open. If both sides are Starlink or have similar CGNAT connections then you would need a third party with a open connection, perhaps a VPS...

    Remote Cameras On Starlink

I am not familiar with ZeroTier, OpenVPN is one of many options but is vary good about working with dynamic addresses and behind CGNAT like starlink. The main thing is you need to be able to bridge your two networks which is what a VPN does. The starlink side will need to initiate the...

    Remote Cameras On Starlink

I have a similar setup to what you described. Off grid vacation house with a few cameras and a local BI system recording at full resolution and a site-to-site VPN over Starlink where a lower resolution substream of the vacation house cameras is recorded on my local BI system. You don't...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I had the audio dropping issue. Changing audio to RTSP alternate AAC decoder fixed it for me.

    Hardware Monitoring...

Yes, works fine on Win 11. You do need to install SNMP in Windows apps/optional features first. The one issue I have had with Win 10 and 11 is every major update, ie. Win 11 21h2 to Win 11 22h2 I have to uninstall then reinstall SNMP informant. Fortunately is is a quick install compared to the...

    Hardware Monitoring...

I'm a bit old school but I have SNMP monitoring through CACTI for everything I care about on the network. On the windows clients like BI, I add SNMP informant to pull a bit more data. Its great for monitoring disk/CPU/RAM/network usage and uptime for the system or individual processes then...

    Enterprise Switch Setup ?

Not familiar with the Supermicro switches but most likely you need to attach to the serial port to setup an IP, what VLAN and ports it is accessible from and user/pass. After that you should be able to use telnet and the web interface if it has one.

Help with deepstack gpu for windows

I fought the "DeepStack has been restarted" issue for a few hours after switching from CPU to GPU. What fixed it for me was running deepstack from the shortcut in start menu after stopping it in BI. Running deepstack from its shortcut brought up some firewall exceptions to approve then GPU...

    Show us your BI Machine

That's why I went with water cooling on this upgrade. I had been using 1u active heatsink in the last few builds on i7 8700k, i7 6700k, i7 4790 and E3 1275 v3. The system will probably change again in the future, I tend not to leave things as they are and I have a i9 10850k that will probably be...

    Show us your BI Machine

Nothing wrong with using RAID. This is the Intel RAID which is not great especially for writes but it is plenty to keep up with BI. As with everything, there are tradeoffs, gain redundancy but loose drive spindown, more difficult to move the array to a new computer, etc. For my usage, I prefer...

    Show us your BI Machine

i9 9900k watercooled in a Supermicro 1u chassis, 4x 10TB spinners RAID 5 and 2x 800GB SSD's mirrored. Old pic of the rack. BI system is in the middle above the 24 bay chassis. Currently the BI system is not racked, remodeling and building a small datacenter with dedicated cooling.

I added ,bird, cat, dog to labels for fun, it produces some interesting results. Its still 1000x better than before and working great with people and vehicles. 85% chance this is a car 69% chance this palm tree is a bird when the wind blows.

    Blue Iris Update Helper (BiUpdateHelper)

I started playing with virtualizing one of my BI installations lately and noticed an area that could be improved in the performance stats. For example, if you look at 2697 for CPU type there are three rigs listed. On an E5-2697 v2 CPU, the 2 indicates dual CPU capable just as the E7-4850 listed...

    No signal on cloned camera

I have multiple BI installs at different sites, all running 4.8.2.3. Site A has 3 Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I cameras recorded locally but also cloned as view only cameras at site B over a VPN. This was done by exporting the cameras at site A and importing them at site B and works fine on 2 of 3...

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Used it to upgrade 8x DS-2CD3132F-IW 0698 and one DS-2CD2032F-I 0598. First one was a challenge trying to get the camera to connect to the tftp server. Ended up using the web firmware upgrade on the other 8. Using the web upgrade, one camera took about an hour to boot then 2 hours to update the...

    Optimize remote cameras over VPN

I am building a second Blue Iris server for a vacation home. The house has a low bandwidth WISP connection so I am looking for tips to optimize a sub stream from the cameras as a backup recording to my primary BI server in case the local BI server is compromised. Basic setup is a mini PC at...

    Blue Iris UI3

Installed UI3 a few minutes ago and have a issue with alert playback. On Firefox 56.0.2 x64 if I click on an alert for playback it starts about 15 minutes before the actual alert time, under edge is starts 10 seconds after the alert. I still have UI2 installed which starts playback about 10...

    Satellite internet

I have TWC which is now owned by Charter and have used Hughes in rural off grid areas. There is no comparison, stick with a hard line connection whenever possible. What dash cam are you using?

That's what I am working on, just got the base script working yesterday to copy files manually. Basically there is a web server builtin to the DR650. There are just a few pages, one for live view at a really low resolution and one page that lists all files. I am using a script to output the file...

What dash cam are you using?

The Blackvue DR650 has a cloud feature now so it can connect automatically to your home network. It's designed for cloud usage which sucks but with a bit of work you can pull all files via a http connection to the camera and dump them to your server.
