have you tried assigning IP's to the cameras and changing the camera setup in NVR to manual? I do this with all my installs. I've also never had an issue with multiple cameras in one port!

Try changing the video quality to high and see if it remains stable. That’s the setting that would bug me the most of the 3 you listed. Also, my supplier insists on always performing a factory reset after a FW upgrade. You could try that as well

It sounds like a bandwidth issue. When you say “live view” works, your not specifying main stream or sub stream. By default the NVR records the main stream which means when viewing the footage your viewing the main stream (higher bitrate)

The length of the cable is not a problem. I tested a full 500’ roll of cable and it worked fine. I agree with others that you may not have used the correct conductor order. It’s more than just matching each end. The order is critical.

Changing the sub stream isn’t going to help you. (Unless you set your NVR to record the sub stream) when viewing live, your probably looking at the sub stream. When playing back, your trying to stream the main stream. It could be a bandwidth issue

Ok. The setup will be the same. You can find a tutorial on google how to prep the NAS. Then add the NAS as a network drive to the NVR. I believe the newer 4.0 NVR firmware will let you chose to record the sub stream to a particular drive.
