What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

    @Cameraguy How did it go?

What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

@Cameraguy No issues at all. I just checked and the folder has one file in it which I think is a BI control file. Note that I went to each camera and made sure I turned off sending images via FTP within BI. BI is running fine and my C drive is only using ~44 GB. I stopped bi and then deleted...

What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

I found this in the manual: "The temp path is used by the software for temporarily saving JPEG images for upload, as well as temporary files for remote management. You may select a target maximum to retain for each remote system under management, however, the folder can grow quite large when...

What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

I closed BI down and deleted the folder, freeing up ~190 GB. I re-created the folder and started BI. Watching...

What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

This folder is used to store temporary images waiting for the upload to something like an FTP server. Early on I was using BI to upload images to my FTP server. Now, I use the individual cams FTP capability to upload directly to my FTP server, which is located on a different device. Doing more...

What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

Not that I'm aware of. The files go back over two years. There is no mention of "ProgramData" the manual. The images appear to be alert pics as best I can tell...

What is C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp used for?

My C drive is an SSD of 256GB and only has the BI database on it as recommended. My D drive is a 16TB Seagate. My C drive ran out of room a short time ago and I went in and cleaned up some files, but I could not figure out why so much space was being used. I found a folder "C:\ProgramData\Blue...

How to stop bees/wasps/hornets from entering PTZ cams?

I'm working on my AR-BEE rifle. It gets rid of the bees but the cams too. Needs some tweaking I think.

How to stop bees/wasps/hornets from entering PTZ cams?

Thanks. I also thought about "painting" on some spray too. Don't think it will last though

How to stop bees/wasps/hornets from entering PTZ cams?

I'm having a problem with two of my PTZ cams. I have seen a bee/hornet/wasp entering two of my cams. I'm afraid to spray the cams as that might damage them. Any ideas how I can safely remove them/keep them out? Thanks

    Blue Iris UI3

I can't figure out on UI3 where the speaker symbol went. It used to be in the lower left line just before the LIVE: date & time. It shows on one laptop but not this one. I checked the UI3 setting but nothing stands out. What am I missing here?

Merging BVR/JPG files from replaced HD

Now skip ahead nearly three years, I want to upgrade my 6 Tb to a 14 Tb HD. If I do something like an image copy from old to new and then swap the old out, would that work without having to do a DB rebuild? Then i could increase the size of the the BI DB to match the new 14 Tb HD. Thanks Johnny

    Blue Iris UI3

@Brian, I see that you removed the "Alerts" tab. I like the new drop down menu. However, Mary, my partner, doesn't like it since it slows her down watching the neighbors! lol It adds mouse clicks and she can't get there as fast as she used to. Any chance you could add it back? It would help...

Resizing or moving video windows in Blue Iris?

Thank you Fenderman! I hope you all have a great 4th of July! Worked perfectly!!!

Resizing or moving video windows in Blue Iris?

I'm just having this problem now. I have moved windows around in the past. I did verify that DRAG LOCK was not enabled. When I try to drag and drop a camera window, it just goes to that camera (alone). Did this change in BI5?

    Blue Iris UI3

@bp2008 Would it be possible to add the camera's IP address to either the "Stats for Nerds" window or "Properties" window? That would be very helpful. Thanks Johnny

Lost alerts and clips in database

Many thanks Fenderman! Worked like a charm! If I have suggestions for BI improvements/features, is it best to contact BI support, or vet through ipcamtalk?

Lost alerts and clips in database

One of my cameras lost all alerts and clips. When I click on the camera Alerts or Clips tabs , (in both BI5 and UI3 , UI3 version 92, Blue Iris version: 5.0.5.9 ), I get the message "No Recordings Found". The camera continues to record. I see motion alerts. All the other camera display...

Updated today. As others have said, it went very smoothly! I'm happy. Note I did not uninstall BI4 yet.

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

By performing I mean how is BI5's performance (cpu usage, memory usage, network usage, etc.) compared to BI4. By everything being equal, I mean the same load on the system. Same cameras, parameters, etc. So the comparison of BI5 is fair to BI4. That's the only way to compare them. Thanks!

    Blue Iris UI3

Regarding "Stats for Nerds", I am asking for clarification on a couple of line items: 1. Network Delay: Is this from the BI server to my laptop running UI3? 2. Player Delay: I don't understand this and what impacts it. 3. Delayed Frames - Same as #2. On the surface it looks like all three...

    UI3 Account Disabled Message

My IP address on my BI server (v. 4.8.1.3) changed last night. On one of my laptops I changed the UI3 (v. 55) URL to the new address and it works fine. On my second laptop I did the same but I get "account disabled" message. I went to the BI console and cleared the "Connections" tab thinking...
