Updating SADP & iVMS ... v3 cannot see any existing cameras? Main view is just black ...

I should add that I am in NA and that the dome cameras were ordered from CN via the internet, with English language, due to the price difference at the time. So, I am now suspecting that the software versions 2 allowed me to see and use these, but that for version 3, Hikvision implemented some...

Updating SADP & iVMS ... v3 cannot see any existing cameras? Main view is just black ...

It seems I found myself in a bit of technical trouble, and hoping the forum collective may have a couple ideas as to how I can get back to normal. I have a simple Hikvision setup. SADP & iVMS-4200 setup on a dedicated windows 8 system. 6 hikvision cameras. One camera may have bitten the dust...

Hikvision live view not working when accessed on browser

Same issue for me, I just discovered. Likely has something to do with Hikvision's unsigned WebComponents plug-in ... which is now being blocked by default in browsers, without an easy way to override it, at least such is the case here with Firefox 55. Solving it may require Hikvision to sign...

XC-2420FIW ... US cam bricks after official FW update (urgent)

Thanks to anyone for reading and your reply, vorlonfrog. As it is late and I'm hitting the road early in the AM, looks like I'm out of luck to use one of the pair for monitoring. Nelly pointed at a warranty exchange, so I'm taking it with me, will do the RMA ... and will reinstall a few months...

XC-2420FIW ... US cam bricks after official FW update (urgent)

Hi Guys, Last ditch effort to resolve this today. Leaving for extended time tomorrow. Two 2420 FIW IR Cubes, from Nellies, had 5.3.0 software. Work working fine. As the cards had filled up, and had 75/25 provisioning for video/pics, but never was used for pics, figured I'd format. > Cam 2...

No more Hikvision? ... H series?

Did something happen at Nelly's, in recent weeks, where Hikvision now turns up 0 results? Ordered a pair of cameras a few weeks back for a family member. Now shopping for a couple more. No hikvision manufacturer selection. 0 Results when searched. Cameras are now listed as H Series? Issue...

How to avoid from these false emails?

Probably cannot avoid them since it is visual detection. On a partly cloudy day the sun poking between the clouds or fast moving clouds will certainly trigger the visual differential. Moving and adjusting zones and sensitivity only helps so much ... to the point it will miss what you want to...

    nayr's home automation build out...

O M G ... What a neat idea! I have a couple of those standalone cold temp plug through wall socket warts that will turn on a lamp and maybe a small heater (would have to check the specs) but HA turning on a secondary and decorative electric heater is pretty neat idea I wish I had come up with...

Haven't been on ipct much recently (even though I've got a few things that I still need to sort out) Just want to give Nayr a big :encouragement: Love the mailbox idea. And, your aquarium, plumbing plus automation ... way cool, and actually fantastic! :cool2: My tank is/was (fish went...

    Painting DS-2CD3332-I black? Suggestions

Great job on the paint dip. Thanks for keeping us posted on the findings. Was that video a series of jpgs stitched together? Or is that some low continuous manual recording? Note that my sunshade idea would only be a horizontal flap with rounded over edges which frontal area during driving...

    Painting DS-2CD3332-I black? Suggestions

I was just thinking today, that you might actually be able to deploy an easy / simple shade off sorts over the camera. Assuming the cameras will be installed vertically, you could in essence have a metal piece that is a rounded over rectangle, to be roughly twice the size of the camera base...

    Painting DS-2CD3332-I black? Suggestions

Hi guys. I appreciate the mention :) Happy New Year!!!! Great wheels! Waw! Can I have a tour? ;) [ also highly curious about the ethernet cam install & wiring on an RV!!! ] Mine are painted chocolate / medium brown to match the "dark horse" (brown) color of paint of the wood trim. I did...

What methods to secure cat cable in drop ceiling?

Great tip. Wanted to look them up ... but every time I try their site I get the country selector page?! Which shows US in the top right and insists I pick another continent and country down the page?! Wherever I try to go I get: http://www.erico.com/selectCountry.asp?returnURL=/default.asp...

    iVMS4200 Auto-Start after Reboot

Sorry, I don't have access to a windows server machine to try it on. Maybe shoot a note to Synology sales or support, as a prospective customer? I've got the recording server and streaming server at startup, but then walked away from playing with getting the client up and running with every...

    Foscam 8910 Wireless issues

Going back to when wifi first came out, yes, it is normal to have interference and there's no way to avoid it. Microwaves can knock wifi out cold for a good number of feet away from the device. Typically what one expects to happen is that things go back to normal once the microwave is done...

Good source to buy IP items at

Re: Good source to buy Hikvision items at. Not to prevent you from ordering international from a great US seller. Purely practically and economically speaking. If you aren't used to ordering international and haven't run into the extra taxes. Check for local "duty & import fees" and...

Speaking of modems, I was actually thinking about BBSs a bit ago, after the mention of dialup. Recalling when I got my first modem (don't recall how slow it was) and that to test it out, I dialed international into a friend's system who had setup a small BBS. Didn't really know yet where else to...

I had dialup for a long while too. Stuff was exciting back then if slow and expensive. We paid by the minute for a landline connection and for the internet connection on top of it. I remember my first internet account was for 10 hours pay as you go. :) Dish internet with its latency and caps...

Good point about a good antenna install and connectivity having some resale value. Having tv, phone and internet plus cell reception - even if somewhat limited cell or broadband - has been a big criteria for any house we lived in. Apart from TV, one of those communications options missing is a...

    Network Security Primer

@bp2008 True. My understanding is though that modern types of VPN are pretty secure. And certainly the use of one (vs open router ports) avoids detection by tools built for certain exploits and targets. @uberlord Well that's a bit more balanced. Sorry that your point(s) got lost. My point...

    Need advice/best practice info

If you think you may install more cameras than those three, and this is the one shot, for easy access then you pretty have to run all the wires you may want to run. I would start by evaluating the layout of the house, garage/carport and garden (fence, gates, plants,...) and see which are...
