New system build, whats ideal in 2023?

Ok I see, for storage I figured I would buy some wd purple drives and install them in whatever I ended up with. Space is not a factor, I have plenty of room for a regular tower here

New system build, whats ideal in 2023?

Best suggestion in the 1000 or so range would be great for me, I am purchasing this for my workplace and really don't want to have to become an expert in current hardware to pick something but I don't want to waste money that can be used for other things like new cameras either. I'm going to be...

New system build, whats ideal in 2023?

I have an old system from 2015 running BI which is honestly one of the last systems I built. I have a pretty open budget for my next system and want to be able to run around 50 cameras of mixed resolutions. I also want to take advantage of any AI that is available. Of course I want all the...

A way to connect to a camera without access to port forwarding

My grandmother is in a nursing home and we have an ip camera installed there (foscam 9821p) that is currently recording to a local blue iris installation. Sometimes things happen with the computer blue iris is running on and we would like to eliminate the system there altogether but do not have...

Raspberry Pi as an IP Camera for BI

Have any of you been able to get your raspberry PI stream to save direct to disk in blue iris? No video will save when I turn the option on in BI to do this. Also of course it says hardware encoders only in BI next to the setting, does anyone know the difference between hardware and software...

Camera Proxy application to unify and secure your IP camera live-viewing

Thanks a bunch bp2008, what I am using it for is to feed an mjpeg stream at 1 frame per second to my android wear watch. Couldn't find a way to throttle framerate in BI. This did the trick :)

    Retail Counter Cam

Hey guys, need a suggest on a cam that would be ideal for a downward view in a retail environment. Currently have a 720P Foscam (I know, I know) but it has served me pretty well. I am ready to be able to read the dates on pennies now. I am shooting from about 5 feet overhead and have 24 hour...

Locked out of webserver (Connection not private) after latest update?

Here you go guys :) I engaged in the same risky behavior that you did in the hopes that my console freezing up would be fixed, but I have the benefit of a long list of backups that I can pull from ;) Dropbox - BI4.5.3.2x64.exe You can quit pulling your hair out now :)

Camera Proxy application to unify and secure your IP camera live-viewing

Hello, just discovered this app and it works perfect, is there a way to pass the user/pass in the url when accessing a cam with permission set to 100? I know this is old, but very useful! Thank you :)

    MJPEG stream frame rate

I have an app on my android wear watch that makes the homescreen an mjpeg stream from my retail store that is very handy. The only issue I am having is that the watch gets overwhelmed by the stream even though I have it set to 320x320 @ 50% quality. It will work then pause and then run a whole...

Is anybody recording a desktop as if it were a camera?

I am capturing a cash register screen with a hardware device and I can confirm that the motion detection works exactly like you want and it is great. There are 2 desktops that I would like to capture through software though, I attempted once with vlc but never got it working exactly right. If...

Diferent way to trigger blue iris camera ?

I trigger cameras from a script I wrote like this: wget -O - -q -t 1 "http://127.0.0.1:81/admin?camera=camerashortname&trigger&user=username&pw=password" You can download wget for windows to do this from a command line in a batch file. I don't know if this is what you're looking for but it's...

SSD keeps filling up, allocation error???

You really aren't going to want to record to your SSD, it is going to wear it out really fast. Download Piriform Speccy and take a look at the details on your SSD and see what the wear leveling count is.

    VGA Capture Hardware

I have a cash register system that uses a touchscreen VGA monitor running at 1024x768. I currently have it running into a Sewell VGA to composite converter: then from composite to NVR to Blue Iris via h264 stream. When the Sewell is working right the picture is clear and great, I am really...

    Win7 or Win10

As a person that is loathe to upgrade anything that works right I totally understand. What I do in these situations is make an image of the hard drive with Macrium Reflect Free AND/OR if I am committed to making the upgrade work and just need to keep a copy of the machine hanging around "just...

Run as a windows service - not recording to server

I had a different issue the other day but it involved blue iris being able to access a mapped network drive and got this response from support: I am betting that this will fix your issue as well :)

    CCTV cam with Blue Iris?

All the cams will plug into the back of the dvr with BNC connections, so hopefully that is what is already on the end of those cables, if not there are adapters for that. Also on the back of the DVR there is an ethernet port to plug it into your network. After that just log into the web...

    CCTV cam with Blue Iris?

I have a lot of experience using blue iris in a retail setting where I setup HD IP cams for critical areas but had 32 CCTV cameras already installed in the building. At the time I was googling like you looking for a solution and kept reading about expensive capture cards that may or may not do...

39 Camera system - questions on cameras and Blue Iris server hardware

As was said earlier Team Viewer is terrible for remote desktop viewing with all those video feeds on the screen. I ended up using Splashtop for this purpose, even over the internet it is like being in front of the server. It was $16.99 for a year subscription to be able to use it over the...
