after I posted this, I was somehow able to access my feeds again via iDMSS plus but as of just now, they're no longer working again. I now have a incorrect username or password error. Something is definitely fishy with the latest app update :mad:

Thanks Bill. Thought I read somewhere that to properly install PoE cams to use CAT6 full copper wires instead of the cheap stuff. Are there any specific settings for each cam I should make sure to do before mounting them?

I also have one NVR5216-4KS2 on order with andy along with some Dahua starlight varifocals.

If I may add, you will want a card that has MLC nand for constant writing to the sd card. Trascend and Sandisk both make high endurance memory card for DVR/dashcam applications but unfortunately only tops out at 64GB. The high end Samsung/Sandisk models should also use MLC though I'm not 100%...

What's everyone's take on using junction boxes? Is it a necessity or just a gimmick. I don't mind spending the extra to buy them if that's the recommendation from you current owners.

so is the consensus to go with the newer 52xx series model due to their support of H.265 encoding if one were to build a new security setup?

@nayr sorry don't mean to hijack this thread but do you have a Dahua NVR you can recommend? i plan to install 6-8 cams and have seen some NVRs with quad-core processor - is this necessary?
