Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

What's to be done with the PTZ .BIN file? Should that be installed as well as one of the two others? 24hours and mine is still up, if it can go say 36 I'll be thrilled! I've been doing a programmed reboot on it every night so if it makes it a few days I'll try dropping that too. :)

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

All three downloads I performed tonight were .ZIP files. 2x at 27meg and the last at 33K. From here: SD49225T-HN | Dahua Technology

I did pull the .BIN file from the zip. I am unsure what to do with the PTZ file but am now curious :)

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

In my case I didn't use the General, I honestly didn't notice the revision on it and would be interested in feedback from others. If no one has tried it I might be convinced to do so :) Looking at the .BIN files inside the NTSC version I used appears to have a later file date on it. The General...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Thanks guys! Fingers crossed this solves my issue. Camera will go days working fine and then just up and die. Multiple reboots sometimes required to get it working again and it does the crazy spinning things each time - looks like a lighthouse in my other camera when it does it at night on the...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

I'd love to upgrade my firmware, I've got one of these with a build date of late 2016 and it occasionally locks up. The links above all reroute me to Dahua's front page and no amount of banging gets me firmware anywhere on their site. Am I stupid or is there some trick I've missed? It reroutes...

Using TP-Link POE switches here, they work just fine! No real issues with this and BI but I've not gotten into presets or any other advanced features.

Nevermind, I got it.... I found out there was an exploit for Dahua cameras that I was sure I hadn't patched. Ran it and while it didn't allow me to switch the password it did show me the MD5 hash.... John the Ripper using a password file of every password I thought it might be cracked the hash...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

Finally got my camera installed on my mount and the cable strung through my attic. I fired this camera up awhile back to test it out and it worked well. Now however I'm trying to login and admin:admin isn't working. I don't recall changing the password for it, is it posisble there's a different...

I'm willing to keep waiting for mine, hopefully it won't be too long! Cold windy and snowy here too so I can wait on the corner mount for the PTZ I've just gotten from you @EMPIRECANDY but please don't forget to invoice and send it with this varifocal when it's ready to ship :)

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

$5 says B&H shows stuff in stock and then orders it from one of Andy's peers before forwarding it on to you at some level of markup. Vendors on Amazon have done this as well..

He's taking pretty good care of us! I've now got an order in for two different cameras too including one of these. Weather here is still kinda' crappy so I've been patient, really nice feeling like someone cares and is helping us out! Edit: actually an HFW not one of these. Still, I appreciate...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Ha, I too am waiting to buy one of these from Andy @EMPIRETECANDY lol! What a difference it makes for a vendor to engage the community and to be so helpful. For those reasons alone I'm willing to wait until he's able to get stock. His prices are fair, he provides support, he's helped Nayr get...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Considering the heat they've taken, they were one of the named IOT companies called out specifically, I'm not surprised that they've made some attempts to tighten their security. However considering the number of SOHO routers I've seen found wanting in the security realm who have likely...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

I'm with NAYR, placing these cameras on an IP exposed to direct internet traffic is awful. They WILL be attacked, they WILL get compromised, and they WILL be used to relay attacks or to directly attack others. In fact this has already occurred in the past! Put the cameras behind a firewall in a...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Some VPN won't give you access to the local network after making a connection but will only allow you to route out to the 'net. I ran into this with PFSense and had to make a firewall rule to allow access to the local network. There's an IOS app named "Net Analyzer" that has a ping application...

    Back yard / pool monitoring

BluIris has a setting for Belkin cameras in the hardware setup, you can run it as a trial and play with it to see if you can use the existing cameras. The reviews on Amazon for it don't look real promising though :(

    Back yard / pool monitoring

VPN will get you remote access to the camera but the apps to access the camera or the web GUI onboard aren't "great". BlueIris is a PC based app that can do motion sensing, recording, alerts, and other things. You might want to consider setting it up on a separate computer somewhere on the...

Dismantle a camera for stealth installtion

This, it's not much bigger than a matchbox, is CHEAP, and not super hard to setup. In fact after spotting this thread I dug mine out and got it running in BlueIris just to make sure that it could be done - took me 15mins.

Dahua Firmware Mod Kit + Modded Dahua Firmware

Question out of ignorance but what does "dh_keyboard 0" do exactly? I've enabled telnet and poked around a little (gently) and run this command without setting any variable - it psits some info that looks to be related to flashing? Am mostly curious and like to poke at things :) Expecting to...

    Dahua NVR5232-4KS2 - anything I should know?

Alright, I do now have possession of the NVR. As of this moment I'm struggling to be impressed to be honest but I'm giving it a chance. I have my Dahua camera connected to it via ONVIF, it keeps insisting on making it max resolution and max frame rate which results in a still frame when I try to...
