Happy I could help. I did add a hard drive when I first set up the NVR. 500g if I remember correctly. Probably explains some of the added wattage. Although the NVR and cams work great, the provided software, ivms4200, is lousy and a PITA! Fortunately, I rarely need to access the NVR. Good luck

Maybe I should ask the question in a different way. How should the NVR ip parameters be set and how should the Local Area Connection (Win7), ip parameters be set? ipv4? ipv6? Currently tried 192.0.0.64 subnet 255.255.0.0 port 8000 for both. Doesn't work. Win7 returns 'conflict' error. Never...

If you mean do I have to login to ivms, then yes I can login to ivms. Device management screen shows the NVR but it also shows 'not connected' Apparently I misunderstood. I cannot access via 192.0.0.64

Thought of that but I live off grid and I'm about a 120 mile round trip to my storage unit where I have an extra monitor. Also, don't have room for an extra monitor full time. (live in 240 sq ft) This worked fine until I changed laptops.
