Oh I know all about interference! Ground loops, common mode, all that fun stuff. Wifi and other high GHz frequency devices haven't caused any issues since the ham frequencies I use are on the low end of the spectrum. Ended up getting one of the APs mentioned here and it's been working great...

Thought about that but I'm also a ham radio operator and have wire antennas strung across that area and I want to avoid any issues with resonance on the network cable.

Last summer I had an issue with wasps (or something similar) making nests in 3 of my turret cameras. One of which was so bad I had to douse the whole camera from a distance with wasp spray. Noticed they're coming back again. They managed to crawl in between whatever tiny gaps were in the mount...

Ok cool, I'll give it another shot with some different outlets. My house is older and most of the outlets weren't grounded originally. I wouldn't be surprised if the power running to the shed is out of phase.

I should've clarified... I meant electrical panel, not solar. I'll try testing a couple different outlets to see if any are "closer" in the circuit. Not sure what keeps the signal in the circuits... maybe the sub-panel ground isn't bonded properly to the main?

I've used powerline adapters in the past temporarily with success, but I've already tried the shed and it can't establish a connection for whatever reason. It has it's own panel but it's also fed from a sub-panel in the house that doesn't have any outlets attached to it.

I'll do some research on the nano station. And unfortunately a powerline adapter won't work because it's on a different circuit, plus I've had issues in the past with them.

Gotcha thanks for the response. I guess my biggest concern is being able to record live directly to a NAS and still have the ability to access the content on the BI computer GUI as if it were stored on the local disk.

I'm finally getting around to installing network cables for my cameras. I planned to run Monoprice CAT6, but seem to have a hard time finding RJ45s that will accept 23awg that aren't so expensive. I don't think CAT6 is really necessary for individual 2/3mp cameras so I was considering CAT5e...

I finally got my Blue Iris PC set up and running. I currently have a single WD Purple HDD in it. Would there be any benefit to putting the OS and software on an SSD versus having everything on a single HDD?

Getting ready to wire my house with ethernet. I'm a little confused about how to terminate the cables. Does it matter as long as it's the same on each end? Should it be the same for all connections (router, switch, PoE switch, computer, cameras, etc...)? Thanks!
