Advice on getting a network cable from a house to a fence with a sidewalk in the way?

Just took a few minutes and was the easy part of the job. Yes, a rt angle grinder with diamond blade. One run is thru 5 conc joint that is against structure and another is 10ft thru joint with concrete against both structures (this one was little more work).

    Driveway alarm? 1,200 feet.

GTK about carter if I ever need one in future. I took a chance on an $20.00 ebay used Mule got one in like new cond. Figured to hack receiver but instead hacked xmitter so eliminated need for rf portion (receiver of coarse can still be used in parallel if needed). Used a cheap 3.00 "sample...

    Driveway alarm? 1,200 feet.

Could use old android phone and free automation app (there are several I recall). NO/NC wired to Android earplug was trigger. Set up on bench last year and worked very reliably. Wanting to simplify found a way to use the M Mule xmitter flashing leds to trigger a relay which triggers camera...

Seeking recommendations to replace water-damaged NVR

Disagree with server statement. Been using old pc with omv for many years and it's been the most reliable electronics's I've ever owned. I would stay away from using a raspberry pi as a server though for reliability reasons.

I found motion detection in general to be waste of time for false alarms (wind, clouds, bugs, etc...). My china brand cams have no gateway access anyway so no value even if motion were reliable. Defining just what that "something" means varies for everyone. For instance: I'm remote on acreage...

Re ftp set the camera pack duration to 10 min and wait 15 min or so and see how playback looks. Whats the result?

Under omv nfs share xtra options: Try adding the no root squash so looks like this :subtree_check,insecure,no_root_squash Reboot both camera and omv after if it doesn't work and try again.

Not familiar with Amcrest but looks correct and it is working. You can change the pack duration in camera settings to whatever you want. Dahua default is 8 min (1-120 minutes) pack size and Amcrest looks to be 7 min. Keep in mind bigger pack size mean bigger downloads from NAS to windows...

You set camera for ftp and get the camera write a folder for ftp but noting else? Have you tried doing continuous and/or snapshot instead of motion (maybe motion not working?). My omv ftp options I have enabled starting from top are: enable (duh) anonymous permit root login fxp resume...

Ftp def be my last choice much better to get NFS working but at least you can be recording now if it works. Just curious what is the Amcrest video compression options? H264, H265?

Dahua camera recording to SMB share

No doubt about it. Myself I'd blow ton of time getting nfs figured out to work before doing ftp. I have 3 ptz cams that only do ftp is only reason I use it. Would not buy another camera that doesnt do H265 (+) also as it takes aroud half the storage compared to my H264's.

FTP broken video is because camera cant stay connected to ftp. Ftp option "Allow clients to resume interrupted uploads and downloads " enabled so camera can stay connected to record properly.
