I've decided to remove this due to a problem someone experienced

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

I can't be sure exactly what happened here, and despite reports of success from others I think it's better to be safe than sorry. I've no idea what Hikvision may change from one day to the next on their cameras, and can't be 100% that problems won't occur.

If you already downloaded the file, and decide to repost it somewhere, please link to this post or at least post a warning.

Hi @Enabler, can you send me the "2xx2 5.4.0 to 5.3.0 downgrader"? I want to try that method.

@Enabler could you send me the tool too! I really need it, or can you give me the code, I'm a C++ developper, I did a tool to modify the digicap.dav file headers but with no luck, I don't understand what are some fields in the header just before the version number.

I would be glad to have this downgrader too, last resort for me, spent hours,nothing working, so the bin has never been that close for my cam

Ok, I have a 2CD-2032F-IW. It was running probably 5.3.0. I didn't know about chinese or us or european version, and did try to update to 5.4.0. Stupid idea!!! . So after spending a lot of time, I know I have the chinese version.Now if I try to tftp 5.3.0, it says success for firmware update, but just SADP working , version 4.8.0. When tftp updating to 5.4.0, SADP not working anymore, and I see with wireshark that it is rebooting on 192.0.0.64 every 30s or so. I can still tftp back to 5.3.0 and go back to a state where SADP is fine, and running 4.8.0. So at this point, I guess the bootloader is for 5.4.0 but there is no such chinese version of this firmware. I'm looking for a way to downgrade the bootloader, to be able to apply again the 5.3.0 chinese version.
 
if it shipped with 5.30 apply the chinese 5.3.0 then downgrade this with the 5.3.0 downgrader firmware.

nope, this is not as simple as that. It looks like upgrading to 5.4.0 does modify the bootloader, and then reverting back to the stock firmware is not an option anymore

If you're up for an experiment, with no guarantee of success, but has been OK on a couple of cameras, check your conversations.
 
Hello @alastairstevenson, I am opened to experiments too.
I have a DS-2CD2132F-IWS (not chinese), I upgraded to V5.4.0 build 160530, and no way to downgrade to 5.3.0.
I contacted French support, they simply told me we cannot help you....
My problem is that after some hours, the RTSP stream is cut, HTTP too, camera LED IR is working but it doesn't respond even to ping.
That's why I want to downgrade. This camera is unusable and cost me 200 euros.
I know c++, I know network, can use wireshark etc, if you could help me this would be great.
This is my last resort too.
