In 2XXX with 4 real line IPC can't work normal, but in 4XXX - it's ok!

I'm not strange at all, people come to the forum for help not motivation.
Most people that come here due owning Chinese version's of HIK camera brought to save a little bit of money.
Your motivation is quite different, in fact the opposite to make money and provide no help, while you are correct it's a free forum and you can say your opinion but as to motivating people with no help I'm afraid that's just crap.

Actually, you just made me realize that I accidentally posted the hex changes for 8 lines/areas. I'll leave it up though for those who are adventurous.
If you are flashing through TFTP then yes you need to change the region flag for it to work. If you are flashing through the web-interface it should work regardless of the flag. That's my experience anyways.

Thanks, I've tried 8 myself (it's a trivial change for anyone who even looks atbut opening the intrusion detection page causes the camera to crash (which could only be fixed with a reboot). Which leads me to believe as you said, that having too many lines/areas won't work as well as it would on the 4-series.Good research Hawk!

Alright, for the adventurous, I've attached the hex changes for everything from 1 to 15 lines/areas.
As a simple warning, I do not recommend setting it to anything higher than 4 unless you really need it. From my brief investigation, there is very likely a performance impact from setting the value too high - even if you don't use all of the lines/areas. In addition, my camera would crash at the intrusion detection webpage when the value was set to 8.

About crashes or not crashes: You need enable all 8 line zone detection and in IVMS or other way catch this alarm from all 8 zone online!!!
As i said database inside IPC have only 8 field!!! 15 is useless!!

The point is to share knowledge for those who are interested in this stuff, so they can go in and play around, and learn how to make modifications. In my opinion, the more people that know how to do this stuff - the better it is for everyone.
Also who knows, maybe someone who REALLY needs 15 lines will figure something out
The idea isn't to tell everyone that they can have 15, I've already said that I don't recommend anything over 4 for actual usage.

I get what you say and full understand, but this is not for everyone
Some people need help and guidance.
They don't need to be belittled or over charged for what they don't understand.
Most of all this is for just fun to see what we all can do, together and then share. This helps open source development not by beind smart but by sharing what we have learned together

Well that's disappointing, were you able to get face detection functioning?It's useless!
