Like iTunesDVR said, I don't think the code is even there for any of the VCA stuff (so behavior analysis, face capture, people counting, heat map). If you look at some screenshots of those settings pages, there's a "Behaviour Analysis Version" and "Face Capture Version", which means Hikvision likely didn't even include the algorithm/library for these functions in the 2xx2 firmware. I mean, why would they? Storage space is small enough already.

Exactly, what gives this away is version 5.16 face detection, even though it's there it also fails to work in ivm-4200

It's a shame, but then there is only so much these budget camera's can do.

Well that's disappointing, were you able to get face detection functioning?

Think stable in 4XXX only! But in 5.1.6 face is presend and maybe.....

Visible it's not enough, like enabled in web interface.
More deeper and all accessible, can change and save, can access via IVMS all enabled fields, can change, (see vk galary) but........ no true reportsm becouse no data!!!

It false because the IPC 2XX2 is weak. But in 4XXX face detection work correctly!!!

2015/10/04 UPDATE:
I've increased the ROI region limit to 4 as well, although I have only been able to get 3 regions working simultaneously. I've also added update-able zips for each version/language so you don't have to tinker with manually replacing the davinci binaries unless you actually want to.

THIS CH and EN.. does this intend the current LANGUAGE of the camera or the REGION ?
Because i have just installed the CH version to my 2332 dome turret camera, now im getting ''error loading xml document (object object )

It's the region, sorry I should have clarified. That shouldn't happen though, what firmware did you upgrade from? Have you tried clearing browser cache and/or rebooting the camera again?

EDIT: I've managed to reproduce the problem somehow, and power cycling the camera fixes it.

Well, it didint fix it for me. The whole menu became Chinese.. Glad the [h=1]Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English[/h]did the job, now i am back to ML.. still without 4 roi.. glad im back, forget about the 4 roi for me ) but would be fine though:sad2:

I don't have any Chinese cameras so I don't know if it works or not..

I don't have any Chinese cameras so I don't know if it works or not..

If you have a Chinese model, 5.28 or lower use the mtd hack to Change your Regional settings, if you have a 5.30 model use the downgrader.

I have included the 4 line add on to the firmware.

I can confirm it works, on all models of 2xxx and 3xxx camera's

I found no faults on testing this on the Chinese models either.

haha yeah, I'm not very familiar with the language problems that most people have so I'll have to leave it to the experts like @whoslooking to solve those problems. Maybe in the future when I get some Chinese cameras..
