I do think there is more to a camera than just the sensor. I think it's a bit like a car and the engine. Sure it's the most important part but if the gearbox is rubbish etc.

Sensor needs a lens for starters!
 
yes, but how are you going to know what type they used.
it is probably asking for a vid, but i can give you the answer what they will give you as example.

Yeah, I don't have the answers... I was just pointing it out in-case you hadn't thought of it.

Seems that smtsec one has a crap dome but good sensor but terrible software.

Asking for a video.... hmmm not sure I trust them, even the vendors I have had good service off. It's not the same as buying local I've found.
 
i actually just send them a message, if it is possible to send me a video recorder preferable at night and day time with this camera and put a mirror in front of it as evidence.

yeah, but these are not using the same firmware as Longse.

I am emotionally attached to it, so yes :)

Seriously though, at least they seem to be more professional about it, they have a site where they list the firmware updates and fix issues upon request.

Doubt it, Longse is probably the biggest not well known camera manufacturer. Nearly every generic looking cctv camera you see is from Longse (or cantonk) Some company... I think.

What do you need for "Hikvision compatible". It works with Hikvision NVR that's good enough for me.

Got it, I don't mind though. I haven't touched settings in some of the cams in a year.

Frankly I haven't tried it in NVR, I set it up in Longse UI and it works extremely well unlike Huisun

And another seller i asked about making a recording using a mirror to proof it is made with that camera has not responded yet.
 
I stopped asking them for menu screenshots, although sometimes they do provide. Instead I just ask for a guide or manual.
